New mission presidents

Six new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. They and their wives will begin their service about July 1. The new mission presidents and where they will serve are:

Walter John Bailey III, 50, New York New York South Mission; Pennant Hills Ward, Sydney Australia Greenwich Stake; former regional representative, counselor in mission presidency, regional director of public affairs, stake president and counselor, stake mission president, stake executive secretary, high councilor, and temple ordinance worker; chief executive officer and managing director; received master's degree from MacQuarie University and attended Sydney Technical College; born in Marrickville, Sydney, Australia, to Walter John II and Davidina Tarbert Bailey; married Lesley Pratt, six children. She is Relief Society homemaking leader; former Relief Society president and counselor, Primary president, counselor in Young Women presidency, Sunday School secretary, and Sunday School teacher; attended Meridan Ladies College; born in Belmore, Sydney, Australia, to William Robert Alick and Isabel Minnie Anderson Pratt.Paul K. Clark, 62, Kenya Nairobi Mission; Monument Park 17th Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park North Stake; ward temple/family history leader; former stake mission president, stake missionary, stake Young Men president and counselor, stake Sunday School board member, branch and district president, counselor in bishopric, Sunday School teacher and president, temple ordinance worker, Boy Scout leader, and Temple Square guide; physician; received medical degree from New York Medical College and bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Chicago, Ill., to Elden Dewey and Pauline Sevy Clark; married Ora Lee Knecht, six children. She is ward temple/family history leader and teacher; former stake missionary, stake Young Women board member, district Primary president, Relief Society education and homemaking counselor, temple ordinance worker, Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary and Young Women teacher, Primary president and secretary, speech director, Sunday School inservice leader, and Junior Sunday School coordinator; received bachelor's degree from the University of Utah; born in Boston, Mass., to William Peter and Ora Knowlton Knecht.

N. Gaylon Hopkins, 54, Venezuela Caracas West Mission; Centerville 6th Ward, Centerville Utah South Stake; Sunday School teacher; former high councilor, counselor in stake presidency and district presidency, stake Sunday School president, and counselor in bishopric; instructional designer and trainer for Church Educational System; received master's degree from Southern Oregon State College, bachelor's degree from BYU, and attended Utah State University; born in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Nephi Christian and Martha Grace Moore Hopkins; married Margaret Ann Childers, eight children; she is a Merrie Miss B teacher; former Stake Relief Society President, stake Relief Society education counselor, stake Blazer leader, Young Women president, Relief Society president, nursery leader and teacher, counselor in Primary presidency, Primary inservice leader, Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout den leader; received bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Alton, Ill., to Marion Andrew and Virgia Hinrichs Childers.

J. Reed Mackley, 60, Japan Nagoya Mission; North Ogden 10th Ward, North Ogden Utah Coldwater Stake; high councilor; former counselor in stake presidency, stake executive secretary, high councilor, bishop, high priests group leader, priests quorum adviser, and branch clerk; dentist; received dental degree from State University of Iowa and attended Idaho State University; born in Driggs, Idaho, to Arthur Henry and Vadna Jean Humble Mackley; married Paulene Rowe, eight children. She is Primary pianist; former stake Relief Society president, ward Relief Society president, counselor, inservice leader and teacher, counselor in Primary presidency, and ward organist; received bachelor's degree from Idaho State University; born in McCammon, Idaho, to Paul William and Ilene Allen Rowe.

L. Dwight Pincock, 55, Japan Fukuoka Mission; Kaysville 18th Ward, Kaysville Utah Crestwood Stake; stake missionary; former high councilor, bishop, Young Men president, teachers quorum adviser, and elders quorum president; computer systems analyst; received bachelor's degree from Weber State University and attended the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lorin and Lorna Jensen Pincock; married Vellis Gae Buck, six children. She is a stake missionary; former counselor in stake Young Women presidency, Relief Society counselor and teacher, Young Women teacher, Junior Sunday School coordinator, and Primary teacher; attended Weber State University; born in Ogden, Utah, to James Harold and Helen Zbinden Buck.

Marcos A. Prieto, 42, Brazil Salvador South Mission; Jardim Simus Ward, Sorocaba Brazil Stake; stake president; former counselor in mission presidency, stake executive secretary, high councilor, bishop, and branch president; business owner; born in Itu, Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Antonio and Helena Benedicta Catherini Prieto; married Vitoria Regia Duarte de Araujo, four children. She is a missionary preparation teacher; former temple ordinance worker, stake missionary, counselor in stake Primary presidency, counselor in stake Relief Society presidency, Primary president, Young Women president, and seminary teacher; born in Cacimbinhas, Alagoas, Brazil, to Sebastiao Fortunato and Isaura Duarte Laranjeira Araujo.
