Thirteen LDS mothers will be representing their states April 29-May 3 during the 59th annual American Mothers National Convention in Salt Lake City. Seven LDS women are Mother of the Year state representatives and six are representing states as Mothers of Young Children.
National representatives will be announced during a banquet May 2.LDS women representing their states as Mothers of the Year are:
Arizona: Melba Gardner Miskin; Mesa 28th Ward, Mesa Arizona North Stake; married Thain Miskin; mother of five children, four foster children, grandmother of 16.
Iowa: Donna Lee Frogley; Davenport Ward, Davenport Iowa Stake; married Ron Frogley; mother of 10 children, grandmother of 24.
Minnesota: Nancy Blanchard; Burnsville 1st Ward, Minneapolis Minnesota Stake; married Jim Blanchard; mother of five children, three foster children, grandmother of six.
Nevada: Margaret Lu (Peggy) Sears Draper; Pioche (Nev.) Ward, Enterprise Utah Stake; married Tom Draper; mother of four children, grandmother of six.
New York: Claire Rose Heilner Freedman; Westchester 1st Ward, New York New York Stake; married Eugene Freedman; mother of three children, grandmother of five.
Ohio: Heimy F. Taylor; Riverside Ward, Columbus Ohio Stake; married Reed Taylor; mother of six children, grandmother of eight.
