The Tabernacle Choir's presention of Handel's "Hallelujah" chorus during the broadcast before conference set the stage for what became a feast of spiritual insights and testimony. Speakers honored Easter morning with heartfelt expressions of love for the Savior and invitations to live more like Him. Their addresses covered a wide scope, from the humility of newly called Presiding Bishop Merrill J. Bateman to the stirring injunctions of President Howard W. Hunter; from touching accounts by President Thomas S. Monson to historic perspectives from President Gordon B. Hinckley.

The Tabernacle Choir, with new outfits for the women featuring cream-colored ruffled blouses, performed under the direction of Jerold Ottley and Donald Ripplinger, accompanied by Clay Christiansen.

The session was conducted by President Hinckley. Elder L. Lionel Kendrick and Elder Augusto A. Lim, both of the Seventy, offered the invocation and benediction, respectively.
