I can feel peace even when there is trouble around me. In John 14:27 it says: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." I can remember two stories of when I felt peace.
When I was about 9, I was playing on the school equipment at recess. I was holding onto the T-bar, and as I was sliding down I fell and hurt my back. When I got home from school, I told my mom. She took me to the doctor's office. There was something wrong with me. My parents had to make a decision to take me to the Taber Hospital or go back to the doctor's office for a check-up. My parents chose for me to go to the hospital. There was no more room so we had to meet the doctor at the hospital to do the tests. If I was still bad then I would be taken to Lethbridge Hospital, which is an hour away. When I heard this, I was really troubled because I had never stayed in a hospital. Before we left, my father gave me a blessing, and I felt peace all around me. It turned out that I was OK, and I didn't have to go to Lethbridge. I'm very thankful for my father for giving me the blessing. This next story is about my grandpa. He was in a terrible accident. On Thursday, Feb. 3, 1994, in the morning my grandpa rolled his propane truck. He had bruises all over his body and had head injuries and a couple of broken ribs. He couldn't walk for quite awhile. Family members fasted and prayed for Grandpa Brown. He had priesthood blessings, which helped him. When I was able to see him, I felt at peace. Each summer, my family goes camping with Grandma and Grandpa Brown. It wouldn't have been the same without him always teasing us girls. I'm very thankful for Heavenly Father for answering our prayers.
In Primary, we have been learning all about peace and what it means to us. Each week I have a chance to go to Primary and learn more about the gospel. I have also had the chance in family home evening to learn the Articles of Faith by heart. I also try to live the commandments and try to use the gospel every day. I look forward to living with my Heavenly Father again.
