Meetinghouses may be used by members for appropriate private functions, (wedding receptions, large family activities, and so forth), if such functions can be conducted without disrupting the established schedule of regular Church functions. It is appropriate to require the payment of a modest fee to cover the added cost of the utilities. Those in charge are responsible for cleanup and restoration.
The Church discourages the non-religious use by others of meetinghouse facilities. They may not be used for commercial or political purposes.- Instructions for Priesthood Leaders on Physical Facilities
