Barton's wife, Norma Smith Wanlass Barton, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Barton, general chairman of the Mormon Miracle pageant, is a temple sealer and former stake president and bishop. A farmer, he attended Utah State Agricultural College (now Utah State University) and is director of the National Wool Marketing Corp. and vice president of the Utah Wool Marketing Association. He was born in Manti, Utah, to Alden K. and Hazel J. Barton. Sister Barton is a temple ordinance worker, former YMMIA president, and teacher in Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. She was born in Heber City, Utah, to Paul M. and Geneve Hicken Smith.Willard B. Barton, 70, of the Mueller Park 5th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake, called as president of the Chicago Illinois Temple, succeeding Pres. Paul W. Wilson. Pres. Barton's wife, Catherine Jean Patton Barton, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Barton, chairman of the Church's International Student Committee, is a former mission president, regional representative, chairman of the Chicago Temple Committee, stake president, stake president's counselor and bishop. A retired director of commercial product development for Allstate Insurance Co., he received an engineering degree from the University of New Mexico. He was born in Ogden, Utah, to James Bryan and Ann Richards Barton. Sister Barton is a former stake Relief Society president's counselor and board member, ward Relief Society president's counselor and YWMIA president. She was born in Charleston, W.V., to Oscar and Flora Trent Patton. Jack F. Joyner, 66, of the Stockbridge Ward, Jonesboro Georgia Stake, to serve as the first president of the new Orlando Florida Temple, which will be dedicated Oct. 9-11. Pres. Joyner's wife, Margaret Earlene Staton Joyner, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Joyner is a sealer at the Atlanta Georgia Temple, is a former regional representative, stake president, stake president's counselor, and bishop. He is the recorder at the Atlanta temple, and a former auditor with the Interstate Commerce Commission. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina. He was born in Columbia, S.C., to Oliver Hickman and Lottie Player Joyner. Sister Joyner is a former Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women president, Primary stake board member, and Young Women camp director. She was born in Greenville, S.C., to Alonzo Franklin and Sara Friddle Staton.
Bo G Wennerlund, 68, of the Vaesterhaninge Ward, Stockholm Sweden Stake, called as president of the Stockholm Sweden Temple, succeeding Pres. Reid H. Johnson. Pres. Wennerlund's wife, Maud Vanja Margareta Pettersson Wennerlund, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Wennerlund, a temple sealer, is a former mission president, regional representative, regional public communications director, counselor to five mission presidents. He is a retired purchasing manager for a flour milling company. He was born in Orebro, Sweden, to Georg Lennart and Ragnhild Linnea Ek Wennerlund. Sister Wennerlund is a former district Relief Society president, counselor in the mission Primary presidency and ward Primary president. She was born in Stockholm, Sweden, to Sven Ivar Lambert and Vanja Siri K. Isberg Pettersson.
Harold C. Yancey, 68, of the Lakeview Ward, Centerville Utah North Stake, to serve as the first president of the new Bountiful Utah Temple, which will be dedicated Jan. 8-14. Pres. Yancey's wife, Ruth Orme Yancey, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Yancey served as stake president, and twice as bishop. An insurance consultant, he received a bachelor's degree from Woodbury University in Los Angeles, Calif. He was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to James Henry and Effie Jane Cobbley Yancey. Sister Yancey is a former ward music chairman, organist, and ward and stake Young Women and Relief Society board member. She was born in Fremont County, Idaho, to John A. and Florence West Orme.
