Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen. - Alma 26:37.
"As we enter into the spirit of conference, another feeling comes to us - one of deep gratitude that we have been blessed by an understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ as it has been restored to earth in this dispensation of time," said Elder Howard W. Hunter, then a member of the the Council of the Twelve in the October 1981 General Conference. "We mix with others from around the world who have that same feeling, and we wish that men and women everywhere could understand and find the joy and peace that come from the knowledge that all people are children of God and therefore brothers and sisters - literally, actually, and in fact, regardless of race, color, language, or religious belief."
