New stake presidencies

Four stakes were recently created, including the first stake in Papua New Guinea and two in Guatemala. The other new stake is in Ecuador.

The first stake in Papua New Guinea is the Port Moresby Papua New Guinea Stake, created by Elder V. Dallas Merrell of the Seventy. (See Nov. 11, 1995, Church News.) The new stake includes the Gerehu, Gorobe, Kila Kila, Korobosea, Port Moresby and Sabama wards, and the Konedobu branch.Elder Julio E. Davila of the Seventy has created the Esmeraldas Ecuador Stake, which includes the Aire Libre 1st, Esmeraldas 1st and 2nd, Libertad, Propicia, Quininde and Regocijo wards, and the Aire Libre 2nd and Muisne branches.

Elder Joseph C. Muren of the Seventy has created the Guatemala City Guatemala Bosques De San Nicolas Stake and the Guatemala City Montserrat Stake.

The Guatemala City Bosques De San Nicolas stake includes the La Colonia, Minerva, Nueva Florida, Primero De Julio and Tierra Nueva wards. The Guatemala City Montserrat stake includes the Belen, El Tesoro, La Comunidad, Mixco and Montserrat wards, and the El Castano and Lo De Coy branches.

Elsewhere, stakes have been reorganized in Guatemala, and in California, Georgia and

Utah.

New stakes

ESMERALDAS ECUADOR STAKE: (Oct. 22, 1995) Created from the Esmeraldas Ecuador District. President - Jorge Miguel Arroyo Jacome, business owner, former district president and counselor, district high councilor, elders quorum president, Sunday School teacher, and branch president, married Sandra Violeta Butzse Estupinan. Counselors - Cesar Omar Intriago Argandona, 34, director of general services for Fomento Bank, former mission president's counselor, district president, Sunday School president, and branch president, married Marjuri Maria del Consuelo Ferrin Andrade; Fausto Genaro Angulo Vallecilla, 31, electrical technician, former district president's counselor, executive secretary, elders quorum president, and Young Men president, married Cecilia Elizabeath Angulo Bone.

GUATEMALA CITY GUATEMALA BOSQUES DE SAN NICOLAS STAKE: (Oct. 15, 1995) Created from the Guatemala City Guatemala Florida, Guatemala City Guatemala Milagro and Guatemala City Guatemala Utalan stakes. President - Cesar Antonio de Leon Cabrera, 32, visiting physician for Sanoti Winthrop, former high councilor, bishop's counselor, and elders quorum president, married Maria Antonieta Gomez Garcia. Counselors - Donaldo Benjamin Milian Arrioyo, 34, sales manager for Munoli Auto, former high councilor, stake executive secretary, bishop, and branch president, married Zova Morales Ruono; Gustavo Enrique Miranda Ramirez, 35, business owner, former stake president's counselor, married Ingrid Estez Cobos Salaeac de Mieanda.

GUATEMALA CITY GUATEMALA MONTSERRAT STAKE: (Oct. 15, 1995) Created from the Guatemala City Guatemala Utatlan, Guatemala City Guatemala Milagro and Guatemala City Guatemala Florida stakes. President - Sam Mino Galvez Orellana, 27, construction supervisor for Church Area office, former stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop, and elders quorum president, married Melina Flor de Maria de Leon Cabrera. Counselors - Eduardo Enmanuel Taylor Deleon, 47, manager of administration for Almacan Americano, former mission president's counselor, stake president's counselor, stake executive secretary, and branch president, married Angelica Marcelina Lopez; Alejandro Lopez Mota, 32, manager of engineering for Abbott Laboratories, former high councilor and bishop's counselor, married Emma Patricia De Lopez Medina Calderon.

PORT MORESBY PAPUA NEW GUINEA STAKE: (Oct. 22, 1995) Created from the Port Moresby Papua New Guinea District. President - Vaiba Rome, 38, security guard for Town House Co., former district president, elders quorum president, branch president, and branch executive secretary, married Mauveri Wadega. Counselors - Ibowa Iwi, 37, clerk for Department of Personnel Management, former district president's counselor and branch president, married Aina Duwaba; Akia Kogu, 27, security guard for Church Area office, former district high councilor and branch president's counselor, married Miriam Geia.
