New stake presidencies

Four new stakes have been created in Brazil, Chile and Nevada.

The Cuiaba Brazil Stake has been created by Elder Helvecio Martins of the Seventy. Wards in the new stake are the Coxipo, Cuiaba, Morada Serra, Mapim, and Varzea Grande wards.The Elko Nevada West Stake, which includes the Carlin, Elko 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th wards, and the Eureka and Owyhee branches, has been created by Elder W. Eugene Hansen of the Presidency of the Seventy.

The Rosario Do Sul Brazil Stake, which includes the Bom Fim, Cidade Nova, Ibicui, Progresso, Rosario Do Sul, Sao Gabriel and Vila Nova wards, has been created by Elder Dallas N. Archibald of the Seventy.

The Santiago Chile Cordillera Stake has been created by Elder John B. Dickson of the Seventy. The new stake includes the Colonial, Cordillera, Las Achiras, Nocedal and Tocornal wards, and the Chiloe branch.

Elsewhere, stakes were reorganized in Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Uruguay.

CUIABA BRAZIL STAKE: (March 5, 1995) Created from the Cuiaba Brazil District. President - Ildemar Ferreira Vilas Boas, 44, accountant, former district president, ward clerk, elders quorum president, and branch president, married Wanda dos Santos Vilas Boas. Counselors - Cesar Adalberto de Castro, 25, merchant, former district clerk, elders quorum president, Young Men president, and branch president's counselor, married Rita Castro de Morais; Renato Capelletti, 27, finance manager for Transcordial, former district president's counselor, district high councilor, Young Men president, branch president, and seminary teacher, married Rossiane Karla Ludgero da Silva.

ELKO NEVADA WEST STAKE: (March 19, 1995) Created from the Elko Nevada Stake. President - Kurt G. Alleman, 41, doctor of optometry, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop and counselor, executive secretary, high priests group leader, deacons quorum adviser, and Scoutmaster, married Marie Beth Lewis. Counselors - Nolan W. Lloyd, 52, general manager for Hackworth Drilling, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, high priests group leader, and Young Men president, married Jeraldine Harmon; J. Lewis Sharp, 37, owner and president of Sharp Dental Lab, Inc., former bishop and counselor, elders quorum president, Sunday School teacher, and deacons quorum adviser, married Brenda Kay England.

ROSARIO DO SUL BRAZIL STAKE: (March 5, 1995) Created from the Alegrete Brazil Stake. President - Jean Jaques, 34, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop's counselor, and branch president's counselor, married Gislaine Raimundo. Counselors - Juvenal De Campos Rodrigues, 34, former bishop and counselor, and elders quorum president and counselor, married Rosado Elanir Jaques; Perci Veiga Prates, 58, former bishop's counselor, elders quorum president and counselor, and branch president.

SANTIAGO CHILE CORDILLERA STAKE: (March 19, 1995) Created from the Santiago Chile Puento Alto and Santiago Chile Vicuna Mackenna stakes. President - Jorge Andres Pedrero Martinez, 38, family physician, former stake president, high councilor, stake clerk, bishop, and elders quorum president, married Viviana Arabella Soto Ulloa. Counselors - Gonzalo Matias Vallejo Chinchilla, 36, manager of growth systems and development for Central Bank, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop's counselor, and ward mission leader, married Mabel Patricia Riveros Gonzalez; Hector Enrique Sanhueza Gutierrez, 34, industrial draftsman, former bishop and counselor, and branch president, married Cecilia Lorenza Lucero Meza.
