New stake presidencies

Two new stakes have been created in Mexico, and in Utah.

The Oaxaca Mexico Mitla Stake, which includes the Atoyac, Donaji, El Rosario, Guelatao, and La Noria wards, and the El Tule, Emiliano Zapata, Tlacolula, and Zimatlan branches, has been created by Elder Carlos H. Amado of the Seventy.The Salem Utah West Stake, which includes the Salem 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, and 12th wards, has been created by Elder L. Lionel Kendrick of the Seventy.

Elsewhere, stakes have been reorganized in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Tonga and Uruguay, and in Georgia and Utah.

OAXACA MEXICO MITLA STAKE: (June 30, 1996) Created from the Oaxaca Mexico and Oaxaca Mexico Monte Alban Stakes. President - Jose Luis Alonso T., 37, regional coordinator for Mexico education and culture; wife, Rebeca Salazar R. de Alonso. Counselors - Luis Arturo Becerra M., 33, administrator of Aeroflash; wife, Ariadna Lourdes Martinez P. de Becerra. Moises Villanueva L., 29, secretary of administration counselor; wife, Leticia Avalos L. de Villanueva.

SALEM UTAH WEST STAKE: (June 23, 1996) Created from the Salem Utah Stake. President - Stanley W. Green, 48, radiologist; wife, Diane Noble Green. Counselors - Michael L. Rawson, 47, director of safety/security for Intermountain Health Care; wife, Kathryn Ann Walker Rawson. J. Lane Henderson, 37, publisher for Spanish Fork Press and owner of J-Mart Publishing; wife, Leslie Kay Money Henderson.
