Six months ago during April conference, the curtain was raised on a historic year of celebration in the Church commemorating the arrival of the pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley 150 years ago.

During the Sunday morning session in this conference, President Gordon B. Hinckley closed the curtain on the celebration by saying, "The last wagon has rolled to a stop. . . . The time has now come to turn about and face the future." In an address that will likely be remembered for his candor and concern, President Hinckley urged members to be better Latter-day Saints.

President Hinckley conducted the session. Invocation was offered by Elder John B. Dickson of the Seventy, and the benediction was by Elder Richard E. Turley of the Seventy.

Music for the session was provided by the Tabernacle Choir.
