`An Ensign to the Nations'

Each member of the Church is part of the greatest cause on earth, said President Gordon B. Hinckley in the motion picture, "An Ensign to the Nations."

The film, which was telecast over the Church satellite system after the Saturday and the Sunday morning sessions of conference and on KSL-TV in Salt Lake City on Sunday, documented the sacrifices behind the worldwide growth of the Church."This is a Church of pioneers - past, present, and yet to come," said President Hinckley. "The stories of only a few are portrayed in this film, as representative of the thousands, some remembered, many forgotten, who unselfishly have devoted their lives and all they had to building the kingdom of God on earth."

The film, which featured interviews with members of the First Presidency, several other General Authorities and Church history scholars, detailed the pioneering of the Church in Great Britian, the Pacific, Asia, Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe.

"The Church has been moving out across the world in a remarkable and wonderful way, and the story of its growth and expansion is the story of God moving in His majesty and power," said President Hinckley.

The video will be available for purchase at Church distribution centers in late November.
