The Aaronic Priesthood, by definition, is a preparatory priesthood. Bearers of this preparatory priesthood should learn, serve and eventually prove themselves worthy of qualifying for the greater or Melchizedek Priesthood. As young men learn how to use their priesthood and have opportunities to bless the lives of others through priesthood service, they grow and prepare for additional responsibilities. Aaronic Priesthood quorum instruction and activities should teach young men lessons that will give them a thorough understanding of and the ability to bring the blessings of the Melchizedek Priesthood to those whom they will later serve.
