Alva C. Snow, 77, Roosevelt 2nd Ward, Roosevelt Utah West Stake, called as president of the new Vernal Utah Temple, which will be dedicated Nov. 2. Pres. Snow's wife, Jean Olsen Snow, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Snow served as president of the Washington Seattle Mission, temple sealer, stake president, regional welfare agent, patriarch and bishop. Retired, he was the owner of Snow Machinery and OK Tire companies, and with his sons, he founded Snow Construction Co. He graduated from Dixie College and Utah State University, and has been active in many civic affairs. He was given an honorary doctor of human letters degree from Southern Utah University. He was born in St. George, Utah, to Leo A. and Lula Pendleton Snow. Sister Snow is a former stake Relief Society president's counselor, ward YWMIA president's counselor, Primary and Cub Scout leader. She is a recipient of Scouting's Silver Beaver Award. She attended Utah State University. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lester J. and Cassie Florence Greaves Olsen.
