Donald K. Barton, 81, president of the Belgium Brussels Mission from 1972-75 and longtime language professor at the University of Utah, died Aug. 24 at his home in Salt Lake City.
A graduate of the Sorbonne at the University of Paris, he lived in France for nearly 20 years and held a doctorate in Spanish. He recently was honored by the University of Utah for 50 years service as a professor. He also served as president and chairman of the board of the Bank of Ephraim. He was a bishop twice and served in the presidency of a university stake.
