Eight new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Their assignments will be announced later. The new mission presidents are:
Craig N. Hansen, 51, Barnes Park Ward, Kaysville Utah Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former high councilor, bishop and counselor, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Argentina Buenos Aires Mission; healthy lifestyles coordinator for Davis County School District; received bachelor's degree from Weber State University, master's degree from BYU, both in physical education, and educational administration endorsement from Utah State University; born in Ogden, Utah, to Norman Cook and Faye Craig Hansen; married Joan Barber, three children. She is teacher development instructor; former Young Women president, Primary president and teacher, Relief Society instructor, Sunday School and Young Women teacher; received bachelor's degree in English from Weber State University; born in Ogden, Utah, to Charles Richard and Helen Flint Barber.- Dean R. Hodson, 55, Ensign 6th Ward, Salt Lake Ensign Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former counselor in stake presidency, bishop and counselor, and stake and ward Young Men president; partner in Philip and Co.; received bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Utah, and doctorate from Michigan State University, all in geography; born in Ogden, Utah, to Allen and LaVora Rawlings Hodson; married Pam Sonntag, eight children. She is a counselor in Relief Society presidency; former Young Women and Primary president, Laurel adviser, Primary and Relief Society teacher, and Lambda Delta Sigma sorority adviser; attended the University of Utah; born in Preston, Idaho, to Philip T. and Voloy Andreason Sonntag.
D. Michael Madsen, 49, Miami 4th Ward, Homestead Florida Stake; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, mission president's counselor, bishop's counselor, seminary teacher, and missionary in the Central America Mission; Latin America director for Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex; received bachelor's degree in international marketing from BYU; born in Ogden, Utah, to Dean J. and Johnnie Mae Bland Madsen; married Laurie Lee Pace, five children. She is Relief Society president; former Primary and Young Women president, activities committee member, and Sunday School teacher; received associate degree in child development and family relations from BYU; born in Milford, Utah, to William Calver and Helen Hoyce Rollie Pace.
Gail W. Ockey, 63, Alameda 8th Ward, Pocatello Idaho Alameda Stake; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, stake missionary, bishop, and branch president; institute instructor; received bachelor's degree in sociology/psychology from the University of Utah and master's degree in religious education from BYU; born in Salt Lake City to Henry DeWitt and Alyce Winn Ockey; married Marjorie Van Dam, seven children. She is counselor in Primary presidency; former Relief Society president and counselor, Young Women leader, Relief Society teacher, and missionary in the Netherlands Mission; attended Utah State University and the University of Utah; born in Ogden, Utah, to Donovan Herbert and Ada Strong Van Dam.
Rulon D. Robison, 66, Ammon 8th Ward, Idaho Falls Idaho Ammon Stake; former regional representative, stake president, temple ordinance worker, stake public affairs director, Primary teacher and Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the East Central States Mission; retired partner and president of Obstetrics-Gynecology Associates of Idaho Falls; received bachelor's degree in chemistry from BYU and medical degree from George Washington University; born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Roy Asper and Ruby Evelyn Molen Robison; married Joan Holladay, six children. David T. Seamons, 54, Edgemont 3rd Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; Sunday School teacher; former regional representative, stake president and counselor, high counselor, bishop and counselor, Young Men president, and missionary in the Alaskan/Canadian Mission; marriage and family therapist; received bachelor's degree in psychology, master's degree in school psychology and doctorate in clinical psychology, all from BYU; born in Huntington Park, Calif., to Robert Christian and Jessie Mae Taylor Seamons; married Ann Finlayson, five children. David Lynn Waddell, 58, Mesa 9th Ward, Mesa Arizona South Stake; former high councilor, counselor in stake Young Men presidency, ward Young Men president and counselor, Explorer adviser, Varsity coach, Scoutmaster, district president, mission president's counselor, and missionary in the Northern Far East Mission; businessman; born in Driggs, Idaho, to David Keith and LaRena Christensen Waddell; married Janet Stevens, six children. Robert K. Wagstaff, 63, Des Moines 2nd Ward, Des Moines Iowa Stake; patriarch; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop, branch president, and representative to the Des Moines Area Religious Council; retired president of Dr. Bob's Ltd.; received bachelor's degree in poultry science and master's degree in nutrition from Utah State University and doctorate in biochemistry from Washington State University; born in Murray, Utah, to Kieth Amos and Eva Mary Wright Wagstaff; married Cynthia Anderson, 10 children.
