At the Saturday afternoon session of conference on Oct. 3, the counselors to the Sunday School general president, Elder Harold G. Hillam, were changed.
Elder Hillam, a member of the Presidency of the Seventy, has served as Sunday School general president since 1995. He retains his calling as general president. He was sustained to the Second Quorum of the Seventy March 31, 1990, then sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy April 6, 1991. He was later sustained a member of the Presidency of the Seventy Sept. 30, 1995.Succeeding Elder Glenn L. Pace as first counselor in the Sunday School general presidency is Elder Neil L. Andersen, who was previously serving as second counselor. Both are members of the First Quorum of the Seventy. Elder Pace is now first counselor in the Africa West Area presidency. Elder Andersen was called to the Seventy in 1993. Along with his assignment in the Sunday School, he is serving as second counselor in the Utah South Area presidency.
Succeeding Elder Andersen as second counselor in the Sunday School general presidency is Elder John H. Groberg of the First Quorum of the Seventy. Elder Groberg was called to the Seventy in 1976. He is also serving as second counselor in the Utah North Area presidency.
