Official policies and announcements

The purposes of the homemaking department are to strengthen individuals and families here and hereafter and to build sisterhood. Homemaking activities should focus on the application of gospel principles taught in Relief Society lessons in order to strengthen sisters in meeting daily challenges and living the gospel in the home.

Homemaking meetings should be based on the interests and needs of sisters in every age group. They should be held monthly on any day or evening except on Sunday or Monday evening. To make it possible for a greater number of sisters to attend, two sessions may be held if necessary - one in the daytime and one in the evening.- Relief Society Handbook
