Open house, dedication dates set for two temples

The First Presidency has announced open house and dedication dates for the Spokane Washington and Columbus Ohio temples. These will be the first to be dedicated of the 42 smaller temples that have been announced since April 1998 general conference when President Gordon B. Hinckley said that 30 or more smaller temples would be constructed.

The Spokane Washington Temple, which was announced Aug. 13, 1998, will open its doors to the public on Aug. 6-14, except on Sunday, Aug. 8. It will be dedicated Aug. 21-23 in 11 sessions and open for ordinance work the following day, Aug. 24.

The Columbus Ohio Temple open house will be held Aug. 21-28, except on Sunday, Aug. 22. The temple will be dedicated in six sessions on Sept. 4-5 and will open for ordinance work on Sept. 7. It was announced April 25, 1998.
