New temple presidents

Dee F. Andersen, 68, Sunset Heights 2nd Ward, Orem Utah Sunset Heights Stake, called as president of the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, succeeding Pres. Robert J. Matthews. Pres. Andersen's wife, Frances Nicholas Andersen, will serve as temple matron.

Pres. Andersen served as president of the Hawaii Honolulu Mission, as a Young Men General Board member, stake president, and bishop. He is a retired BYU vice president for administration and was chairman of the board of the Utah Chapter of the American Cancer Society and served on other civic service organizations. He graduated from Utah State University and did graduate work at the University of Utah. He was born in Ogden, Utah, to Floyd Charles and Lola Rose Andersen.

Sister Andersen is a former stake and ward Relief Society president's counselor, stake and ward Primary president, and served with her husband when he was mission president. She attended Weber College. She was born in Ogden, Utah, to J. Allen and Priscilla Stratford Nicholas.

Sterling D. Colton, 70, Potomac South Ward, Washington D.C. Stake, called as president of the Washington D.C. Temple, succeeding Pres. Earl J. Roueche. Pres. Colton's wife, Eleanor Ricks Colton, will serve as temple matron.

Pres. Colton is a former president of the Canada Vancouver Mission, stake president's counselor, temple sealer, bishop and member of the Church's International Affairs Committee. He is a former vice chairman, director, senior vice president and general counsel for Marriott International and affiliated companies. He served as chairman of the University of Utah National Advisory Committee in Washington D.C., chairman of the National Litigation Center and Washington Metropolitan Corporate Counsel Association, director of the Polynesian Cultural Center, and BYU Law School. He graduated from the University of Utah and received a law degree from Stanford University. He was born in Vernal, Utah, to Hugh Wilkens and Marguerite Maughan Colton.

Sister Colton is a former Stake Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Young Women president and Relief Society and Primary president's counselor, member of the Church's International Affairs Committee, and temple worker. She graduated from the University of Utah. She was born in Hibbard, Idaho, to Thomas Emerson and Annie Hutchings Ricks.

J. Kirk Moyes, 68, Shadow Valley Ward, Ogden Utah Weber Stake, called as president of the Ogden Utah Temple, succeeding Pres. Collins E. Jones. Pres. Moyes' wife, Sharyl Burnett Moyes, will serve as temple matron.

Pres. Moyes, an Area Authority Seventy, is a former area authority, regional representative, stake president, stake president's counselor, and bishop. A dentist, he graduated from Northwestern University Dental School. He was born in Ogden, Utah, to William Stewart and Maude Walters Moyes.

Sister Moyes is a former stake Relief Society president and counselor, ward Relief Society and Young Women president and counselor, and ward Primary president's counselor and teacher. She attended Weber State College. She was born in Ogden, Utah, to Boyd William and Velda May Brown Burnett.

Donald D. Salmon, 66, of the River Valley Ward, Edmonton Alberta Riverbend Stake, called as president of the new Edmonton Alberta Temple. Pres. Salmon's wife, Joyce Jacobs Salmon, will serve as temple matron.

Pres. Salmon is a former president of the Utah Ogden Mission, regional representative, stake president, patriarch, stake clerk and bishop. Retired Auditor General of Alberta and current member of the Church Audit Committee, he attended the University of Alberta and became a chartered accountant. He served on several boards of professional accounting education organizations and has been honored for his contributions. He was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, to John Ross and Eva Dahl Salmon.

Sister Salmon is a former ward Primary president, counselor, teacher, stake Relief Society secretary, ward Relief Society president's counselor, teacher and secretary, and ward family history consultant. She attended McTavish Business College. She was born in Cardston, Alberta, to Henry Chariton and Thelma Burnham Jacobs.
