Changes for several general authorities

Several LDS general authorities were released and others changed positions during business conducted during the Saturday afternoon session of general conference.

Elders F. Enzio Busche, Loren C. Dunn and Alexander B. Morrison were released from full-time service in the First Quorum of the Seventy and granted emeritus status.

Elders Eran A. Call, W. Don Ladd, James O. Mason and Richard E. Turley Sr. were also released from the Second Quorum of the Seventy. Elder Harold G. Hillam was released as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy, with Elder Dennis B. Neuenschwander was sustained in his stead. Elder Hillam was also released as general president of the Sunday School. His counselors, Elder Neil L. Andersen and Elder John H. Groberg, were released, then sustained anew as counselors when Elder Marlin K. Jensen was sustained as the new Sunday School president.

Elders Busche, Dunn and Morrison have a combined 68 years of service as general authorities. Elder Busche has served as president of the Frankfurt Germany Temple and the Germany Munich Mission. Elder Dunn and his wife, Carol, have lived an international life, residing over the years in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and the Philippines. They are currently president and matron of the newly dedicated Boston Massachusetts Temple. Elder Morrison has served as president of the Utah North and the North America Southeast Areas. At the time of his calling, he was a university professor in Ontario, Canada.
