Five new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Here are their names, assignments and biographical information:
Joseph F. and Katherine Boone
Joseph Flake Boone, 55; Singapore Mission; Cottonwood Ward, Omaha Nebraska Papillion Stake; seminary teacher, institute instructor and high priests group instructor; former regional representative, stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake and ward Young Men president, bishop's counselor, priests and teachers quorum adviser, elders quorum president and full-time missionary in North British Mission; retired LDS chaplain in U.S. Air Force; received bachelor's and master's degrees in physical education and doctorate in Church history from BYU; born in Jacksonville, Fla., to James Roland and Ruth Flake Boone; married Katherine Allisyn Day; nine children. She is a counselor in ward Relief Society presidency and ward organist; former stake Primary president's counselor, ward Relief Society president and counselor, ward Primary president, stake Relief Society board member, ward teacher improvement coordinator, seminary teacher, and full-time missionary in Netherlands Mission; accompanist for junior and senior high school; received bachelor's degree in interpersonal communications from BYU; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Walter Daniel and Margaret Lucile Jansson Day.
Tamara and David Ray Brown
David Ray Brown, 43, Mexico Tampico Mission; Colonia Juarez 1st Ward, Colonia Juarez Mexico Stake; temple ordinance worker; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, ward Young Men president, bishop's counselor, elders quorum president, and full-time missionary in Mexico Veracruz Mission; cattle rancher; received bachelor's degree at New Mexico State University; born in Colonia Juarez, Mexico, to David Samuel and Ellis Whetten Brown; married Tamara Fay Crockett; four children. She is a Relief Society enrichment leader; former ward Primary president's counselor, Primary teacher, ward Young Women president, and ward Relief Society president's counselor; received associate degree in child care at Eastern Arizona College and cosmetologist certification at Safford College of Beauty Culture; born in Safford, Ariz., to Keith and Kathleen McBride Crockett.
Edite and Sergio Luis Carboni
Sergio Luis Carboni, 40, Brazil Salvador South Mission; Manaira Ward, Joao Pessoa Brazil Stake; bishop; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, elders quorum president and full-time missionary in Brazil Recife Mission; coordinator of Deseret Association; received bachelor's degree in literature arts from Federal University of Paraiba; born in Sao Carlos, Brazil, to Oswaldo and Thereza Palombo Carboni; married Edite Liana Barboza Freire; five children. She is a Sunday School teacher; former stake Young Women president, seminary teacher, ward Primary president, stake camp leader, ward Young Women president's counselor, and full-time missionary in Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission; received bachelor's degree from Federal University of Paraiba; born in Joao Pessoa, Brazil, to Astrogildo Fernandes and Marisa Viana Barboza Frieire.

She is a former ward Young Women president's counselor, Primary teacher, ward Primary president's counselor, ward Relief Society president and counselor; received bachelor's degree in psychology; born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Flavio Roque and Velleda Moraes Roque Da Silva.
Carol and Merlin Ray Jenson
Merlin Ray Jenson, 60, Massachusetts Boston Mission; missionary in California San Francisco Mission; former stake president's counselor, bishop, stake Young Men president, stake executive secretary, high counselor, bishop's counselor, Explorer adviser and Scoutmaster; former director of strategy with U.S. West; received bachelor's and master's degrees in education and mathematics from Utah State University; born in Logan, Utah, to Emuel Moroni and Vera Perkes Jenson; married Carol Morgan; six children. She is with her husband in the California San Francisco Mission; former Primary teacher, Relief Society homemaking leader, ward organist, Sunday School teacher, Young Women president and adviser, stake and ward Relief Society president; received bachelor's degree in elementary education from BYU; born in Orange, Calif., to Robert Ward and Phyllis Lorraine Brockbank Morgan.
