Fresno California Temple (facts and figures)

Location: Northwest Fresno at 6290 N. Valentine, adjacent to Fresno California West Stake Center near the intersection of Valentine and Sierra avenues.

Temple presidency: President Lynn Dredge, counselors Jerry Thompson and Gaylord Ensign.

Rooms: Celestial room, baptistry, two ordinance rooms, two sealing rooms.

Facade: Sierra white granite quarried in Raymond, Calif.

Size: 10,850 square feet.

Architect: Paul Stommel

Contractor: Jacobsen Construction Co.

District: Serves some 27,000 members in eight stakes which are part of the Fresno California Mission.

Schedule: Opened April 10 with 34 sessions a week Tuesday through Saturday.

Pertinent facts: Announced Jan. 8, 1999; groundbreaking March 20, 1999; open house March 25-March 31, April 3-4, 2000, with some 51,000 people attending; dedicated in four sessions by President Gordon B. Hinckley on Sunday, April 9, 2000.
