Kathleen R. and Daniel A. Betham

Daniel Afamasaga Betham, 73, Aleisa 2nd Ward, Aleisa Samoa Stake, called as president of the Apia Samoa Temple, succeeding President R. Wayne Shute. President Betham's wife, Kathleen Rasmussen Betham, will serve as temple matron. President Betham served as temple president's counselor, regional representative, stake president and counselor and bishop. A semi-retired businessman and commercial farmer, he is a certified public accountant who graduated from Mount Albert College in New Zealand. He was born in Apia, Western Samoa, to Henry Burton and Ota Afamasaga Betham. Sister Betham is a former assistant to the matron, Primary president, Young Woman president and counselor, Relief Society president and teacher development director. She was born in Avarua, Cook Islands, to Viggo and Margaret Munro Rasmussen.

Rina R. and Hugo R, Gazzoni

Hugo Ruben Gazzoni, 71, San Nicolas Centro Ward, San Nicolas Argentina Stake, called as president of the Buenos Aires Argentina Temple, succeeding President E. Lionel Brady Jr. President Gazzoni's wife, Rina Rappo Gazzoni, will serve as temple matron. President Gazzoni served as regional representative, president of the Argentina Cordoba Mission, and stake and district president. A retired merchant, he is a former president of the Federation of Commerce. He was born in San Pedro, Argentina, to Agustin and Irma Cella Gazzoni. Sister Gazzoni is a former Relief Society and Young Women president and Sunday School teacher. She was born in San Nicolas, Argentina, to Octavio and Maria Branzolli Rappo.

Gunnel V. and Arne L. Hedberg

Arne Lennart Hedberg, 65, Orebro Ward, Stockholm Sweden Stake, called as president of the Stockholm Sweden Temple, succeeding President Spencer F. Jenson. President Hedberg's wife, Gunnel Viola Gustafsson Hedberg, will serve as temple matron. President Hedberg served as president of the Sweden Stockholm Mission, regional representative, stake president, and branch president. He is a retired area director of the Church Educational System, and attended the University of Goteborg. He was born in Goteborg, Sweden, to August A. and Connie Therese Hedberg. Sister Hedberg is a cultural arts specialist and choir conductor, and has taught Young Women and Relief Society. She is an author of family and local history books and attended the University of Goteborg. She was born in Orebro, Sweden, to Karl Harry and Marta Axelina Gustafsson.

Bonnie P. and Thom P. Nielson

Thomas P. Nielson, 73, called as president of the Taipei Taiwan Temple, succeeding President Hsieh, Fan. President Nielson's wife, Bonnie Pace Nielson, will serve as temple matron. President Nielson, president of the Ann Arbor Michigan Stake, served as president of the Taiwan Taipei Mission, stake president and counselor and bishop. A retired chief executive officer and president of Balance Dynamics Corp., he graduated from the University of Washington with a Ph.D. in Chinese language and literature. He was born in Huntington, Utah, to Soren Levi and Ruth Hansen Nielson. Sister Nielson is a former multi-stake director of public affairs, stake Young Women activity counselor, ward Relief Society and Primary president. She received a bachelor's degree from BYU. She was born in Price, Utah, to Carlyle and Florence Lorraine Biggs Pace.

Marcia J. and John R. Peterson

John Richard Peterson, 71, Thunder Mountain Ward, Mesa Arizona Salt River Stake, called as president of the Mesa Arizona Temple, succeeding President L.. Ken Udall. President Peterson's wife, Marcia Jorgensen Peterson, will serve as temple matron. President Peterson, first counselor in the Mesa Arizona Temple presidency, served as president of the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission, regional representative, stake president and counselor, and bishop. A retired dentist, he graduated from Brigham Young University and received his dental degree from the University of Washington. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harold Anton and Juna Sidora Tye Peterson. Sister Peterson, assistant to the matron of the Mesa Arizona Temple, is a former stake young single adult adviser and Relief Society board member and ward Relief Society president. She attended BYU and was born in Murray, Utah, to Henry Charles and Ruth Goodman Jorgensen.

Mary B. and David M. Porch

David Moore Porch, 80, Glasgow Ward, Glasgow Scotland Stake, called as president of the Preston England Temple, succeeding President Ian D. Swanney. President Porch's wife, Mary Bateman Porch, will serve as temple matron. President Porch served as stake president, district president, patriarch and branch president. A retired market researcher, he attended college. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to Frederick and Janet Moore Porch. Sister Porch is a former stake Relief Society president and counselor, and ward Primary and Relief Society president. She attended college, and was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to David McMillan and Christina Moore Bateman.

Kiyoshi and Mitsuyo Sakai

Kiyoshi Sakai, 61, Machida 2nd Ward, Machida Japan Stake, called as president of the Tokyo Japan Temple, succeeding President Kensei Nagamine. President Sakai's wife, Mitsyo Ogawa Sakai, will serve as temple matron. President Sakai served as president of Japan Sendai Mission, stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop, and branch president. The retired recorder of the Tokyo Japan Temple, he graduated from Keio University. He was born in Okayama, Japan, to Toshiro and Kumeko Hanaya Sakai. Sister Sakai is a former stake and ward Relief Society president. She was born in Kobe, Japan, to Sadao and Yaeno Nagahama Ogawa.

Valoy F. and Milton E. Smith

Milton Edmund Smith, 73, Orem 4th Ward, Orem Utah Stake, called as president of the Guatemala City Guatemala Temple, succeeding President Udine Falabella De Leon. President Smith's wife, Valoy Frandsen Smith, will serve as temple matron. President Smith, a sealer in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, served as president of the Central America Mission, regional representative and bishop. A retired professor of finance at BYU, he received bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph Fielding and Ethel Reynolds Smith. Sister Smith is a former Primary president's counselor and teacher in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women. She was born in Mount Pleasant, Utah, to Roy Edward and Opal Kelsey Frandsen.
