Family: Born February 24, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to L. Whitney and Elizabeth Graham Touchstone Clayton; married Kathy Ann Kipp, daughter of Carman E. and Marilyn Ludwig Kipp, on August 9, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple; seven children, Whitney, 26; Heather, 25; Catherine, 23; Brooke, 21; Blake, 18; Christian, 16; Matthew, 13.

Education: Received bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah (1974) and law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1978).

Employment: A shareholder of Call, Clayton and Jensen, a California law firm.

Church service: Area Authority Seventy for the North America West Area, regional representative, mission president's counselor, stake high councilor, stake executive secretary, bishop, branch president and a full-time missionary in Peru.
