New Area Authority Seventies

New Area Authority Seventies were sustained during general conference March 31. The new members of the Third, Fourth and Fifth Quorums of the Seventy are:

Salvador Aguirre

Salvador Aguirre, 47, Zapopan, Mexico; manager for ACS-BPS of Mexico; currently serving as chairman of the Mexico Guadalajara Temple Committee; former president of the Mexico Guadalajara Mission (1996-1999); stake president, bishop. Wife: Alma; six children.

Daniel P. Alvarez

Daniel P. Alvarez, 52, Buenos Aires, Argentina; owner of a private school (kindergarten - high school); currently serving as stake public affairs director; former president of the Colombia Barranquilla Mission (1990-1992), high councilor, bishop. Wife: Miguelina; three children.

David J. Barnett

David J. Barnett, 60, Johannesburg, South Africa; executive, Mercantile Bank; currently serving as a quorum instructor; family history center director and sealer in the Johannesburg South Africa Temple; former stake president and bishop. Wife: Norma; three children.

Oscar W. Chavez

Carl B. Cook, 42, Riverdale, Utah; partner, The Boyer Company; currently serving as president of the Ogden Utah Riverdale Stake (since 1993); former bishop. Wife: Lynette; five children.

R. Michael Duffin, 51, Hemet, Calif.; ophthalmologist; currently serving as a high councilor in the Hemet California Stake; former stake president, high councilor and stake mission president. Wife: Gaye; five children

Timothy J. Dyches

Timothy J. Dyches, 49, Reno, Nev.; doctor—ear, nose and throat specialist; currently serving as regional public affairs director in the Reno Nevada Stake mission presidency and as an ordinance worker in the Reno Nevada Temple; former stake president and high councilor. Wife: Jill; three children.

Michael H. Holmes

Michael H. Holmes, 59, Sandy, Utah; builder and developer; currently serving on the Hosting Committee, Joseph Smith Memorial Building; former president of the Missouri Independence Mission (1988-1991), regional representative and stake president. Wife: Marian; twelve children.

Richard D. May

Richard D. May, 48, Birmingham, Ala.; senior immunologist, Southern Research Institute; recently released as president of the Birmingham Alabama Stake; former bishop. Wife: Pamela; four children.

Joel H. McKinnon

Joel H. McKinnon, 55, Winter Park, Fla.; president, HHP Sales, Inc. (electronic components distributor); currently serving as president of the Orlando Florida Stake (since 1992); former bishop. Wife: Genean; five children.

Sierra, 44, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, country director, Church Educational System; currently serving as executive secretary, Tegucigalpa Honduras Uyuca Stake; former president of the Mexico Torreon Mission (1996-1999), counselor in two stake presidencies and branch president. Wife: Edna; four children.

G. Perrin Walker, 60, Tacoma, Wash.; attorney/partner, Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara; Currently serving as Scout committee chairman; former president, Belgium Brussels Mission (1985-1988), regional representative, stake president and bishop. Wife: Charlotte; eight children.
