SEOUL, Korea — Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve met with South Korean Prime Minister Lee Han-Dong on April 28, 2001, while in Seoul to preside over a regional conference April 28-29. More than 5,000 members of the Church attended the conference.
During his visit with Elder Oaks, Prime Minister Lee spoke highly of the way Church members practice Jesus Christ's teaching to love one another. He also showed great interest in the Church's emphasis on family values. Elder Oaks presented Prime Minister Lee with "The Family: a Proclamation to the World" and a sculpture which represents a happy family circle.
Other Church leaders at the meeting were Elder E. Ray Bateman of the Seventy and a counselor in the Asia North Area Presidency, and Elder Ko Won Yong, Area Authority Seventy.
