"How grateful we should be for the blessings that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into our hearts and souls."

Elder Haight, now in his 97th year, expressed his gratitude for his parents, his ancestors and having good people in his life who have had a positive influence.

"I wish to pay tribute and gratitude to my Heavenly Father for blessings.&nbsp.&nbsp.&nbsp. I'm grateful tonight for the blessings that I have had."

Elder Haight also expressed gratitude for President Hinckley's vision of growth in the church and the number of temples which have been built as a result.

"I want President Hinckley to know that I have watched carefully .&nbsp.&nbsp. how he has grown and grown and matured and been inspired and directed.&nbsp.&nbsp.&nbsp. Bless his heart for what he has done."

Giving thanks must become more a part of our lives. The scriptures tell the story of the Savior's encounter with 10 lepers who sought his healing.

"They said Master, have mercy upon us."

Once they were made well, only one of the lepers returned to give thanks.

"The Savior said to that one man, weren't there 10? What has happened to the other nine? Where were they? .&nbsp.&nbsp. How would you like to be part of the nine society, to be among those who failed to thank the Savior?"

Some of our blessings are easy to take for granted. To show gratitude properly for the blessings in our lives, we should thank God with all our heart, might, mind and strength.

"God lives. He is our Father. I know that."
