New mission presidents

Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. They are:

Rebeca and Jose Luis Alonso

Jose Luis Alonso Trejo, 44, Mexico Tijuana Mission; University 1st Ward, Oaxaca Mexico Mitla Stake; CES coordinator, physician; stake president and former mission president's counselor, stake mission president, bishop and counselor; born in Cuautla, Mexico, to Luis Juan Alonso Jimenez and Maria de la Luz Trejo Q. de Alonso. Married Rebeca Salazar Ramirez, two children.

She is a temple worker and Young Women president, and former family history consultant, Relief Society president and seminary instructor. She was born in Cuautla, Mexico, to Abraham Salazar Trueba and Trinidad Ramirez Gonzalez de Salazar.

Terrance Stephen Drake, 57, Bolivia La Paz Mission; Mount Rose 3rd Ward, Reno Nevada Stake; obstetrician and gynecologist; North America Southeast (Caribbean) medical adviser missionary, former priests quorum adviser, stake president's counselor, high councilor and bishop. Married Marvia Lynn Brown, six children.

She is a health care specialist missionary in the North America Southeast (Caribbean) Area, Primary teacher, Young Women president and adviser and Primary president. She was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Edward Rubens and Elizabeth Taylor Burgener McCarty Brown.

Ferreyro Medina, 53, Mexico Mexico City North Mission; Itzimna Ward, Merida Mexico Itzimna Stake; CES institute director; mission president's counselor, regional family history consultant, stake president and bishop; born in Merida, Mexico, to Roque Ferreyro Herrera and Rosaura Medina Perez de Ferreyro. Married Irma Lilia Armendariz Orozco, five children.

She is a temple district family history consultant and former nursery leader, Relief Society president and counselor, and Primary teacher. She was born in Ciudad Madera, Mexico, to Guillermo Armendariz Baca and Maria Ines Orozco Andazola de Armendariz.

Married Juana Maria Pinto Garcia, six children.

She is stake Young Women president and former stake Relief Society president's counselor, ward Relief Society president, stake Primary president and Young Women president. She was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Izaltino and Esmerinda Lourenco Nascimento.
