New temple presidents

The First Presidency has called new presidents for the Manila Philippines, Mesa Arizona and Montevideo Uruguay temples. Also, John Maxwell was called as president of the Preston England Temple. A photo of him and Sister Maxwell and their biographies will be published later.

Albert Choules Jr., 77, Salt Lake 21st Ward, Salt Lake Emigration Stake; called as president of the Mesa Arizona Temple; succeeding President John Richard Peterson. President Choules' wife, Marilyn Jeppson Choules, will serve as temple matron. President Choules is a former member of the Quorums of Seventy, temple sealer, area president's counselor, mission president, stake president and stake president's counselor. He is senior vice president of Coltrin & Associates. He was born in Driggs, Idaho, to Albert and Rula Wilson Choules.

Sister Choules is a former stake Primary president's counselor, stake Young Women camp director, Relief Society and Young Women president and Primary president's counselor. She was born in Berkley, Calif., to Lee Ralph and Gertrude Elnora King Jeppson.

James Robert Driggs, 72, Provo Oak Hills 9th Ward, Provo Utah Oak Hills Stake; called as president of the Montevideo Uruguay Temple; succeeding President Joseph Kay Brooks. President Driggs' wife, Carmen Carolyn Gay Peters Driggs, will serve as temple matron. President Driggs is a former temple ordinance worker, mission president, mission president's counselor, area executive secretary and stake president. He was vice president and chief financial officer in high technology firms. He was born in San Francisco, Calif., to Golden Kenneth and Maude Macdonald Driggs.

Sister Driggs, who served with her husband while he was a mission president and mission president's counselor, is a former temple ordinance worker, Primary president and Relief Society and Young Women president's counselor. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Edward Lloyd and Dona Waters Peters.

Ray W. Nelson, 71, Lakeridge 6th Ward, Orem Utah Lakeridge Stake; called as president of the Manila Philippines Temple; succeeding President Robert J. Tingey. President Nelson's wife, Kleah Rowley Nelson, will serve as temple matron. President Nelson is a former temple president's counselor, stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop and high priests group leader. He was a material coordinator in the steel industry. He was born in Vernal, Utah, to James Victor and Mary Venola Slaugh Nelson.

Sister Nelson is a former assistant to the matron, stake missionary, Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president. She was born in Nevada City, Calif., to Carl George and Leah Pyne Rowley.
