BOGOTA, Colombia — Working with the Church, the Wheelchair Foundation donated 100 wheelchairs June 22 in Bogota to physically disabled residents who need, but cannot afford, them.
These wheelchairs were the first of a 1,000-wheelchair shipment to be distributed. An additional 500 chairs, provided by the Church, will soon follow.
"We are proud to work with the LDS Church to bring relief to the Colombian people, and people from other nations around the world," said Eva Brook, wheelchair foundation regional operations manager. "It is wonderful to witness the immediate positive change that comes into a person's life through the simple gift of a wheelchair."
