Saints United Voices: 'Hot Shot Debut'

The Saints United Voices, a Las Vegas, Nev., group of Church members founded and directed by acclaimed pop and soul singer Gladys Knight, has garnered Billboard magazine's "Hot Shot Debut" title with its first album, "One Voice." The week of Jan. 13, the album landed at #9 on the magazine's Gospel chart.

Billboard is a trade magazine that has long been recognized in the recording industry for its charts measuring the popularity of recent releases.

The gospel choir consists of more than 100 members from several cultural backgrounds. Sister Knight, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who joined the Church in 1997, was recently nominated for a Grammy award for her duet with the late Ray Charles, "Heaven Help Us All." She was the last person to record with him before his death last year.
