Changes in the Europe Central and Europe East area presidencies have been announced by the First Presidency.
Elder Paul B. Pieper of the Seventy, first counselor in the Europe East Area presidency, has been called as president of the Europe East Area, succeeding Elder Dennis B. Neuenschwander who was released as area president Oct. 17, 2006.


Elder Wolfgang H. Paul, first counselor in the Europe Central Area, was transferred to become first counselor in the Europe East Area presidency. Elder Larry W. Gibbons will continue as second counselor in the Europe East Area presidency. The new first counselor in the Europe Central Area presidency is Elder Johann A. Wondra, Area Seventy, formerly serving as second counselor. Elder Bruce C. Hafen will continue as Europe Central Area president.
Newly called Area Seventy Elder Erich W. Kopischke is serving as second counselor in the Europe Central Area presidency.


Sustained as an Area Seventy Sept. 30 at October general conference, Elder Kopischke, 49, of Frankfurt, Germany, has served as a coordinator of the Church Educational System; was president of the Berlin Germany Mission, 2003-2006; and was a stake president, district president, branch president and bishop's counselor. He and his wife, Christiane Gluck Kopischke, are parents of seven children.
