WASHINGTON D.C. — The Washington, D.C. Chapter of the BYU Management Society held its 22nd annual scholarship fund-raising dinner at the Marriott Hotel Center of Georgetown University April 18. The sold-out dinner, with 800 guests, provides scholarships through the Joy Korologos Scholarship Fund for nine recipients from the Washington, D.C., area, and was the most successful dinner to date in terms of sponsorship contributions.
CNN anchor Larry King and his wife, Shawn Southwick King, were presented the Distinguished Service Leader of the Year Award for their work with the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, which Sister King, a member of the Church, chairs. Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Utah, introduced the Kings.
Kevin Rollins, President and CEO of Dell Inc., recipient of the Business Leader of the Year, was introduced by past recipient Richard E. Marriott.
