The following have been called as new temple presidents and temple matrons. The new leaders, who will serve for three years, will start their new responsibilities on Nov. 1.
Wendell Earl Brown, 62, Parkway Ward, St. Louis Missouri Stake, called as president of the St. Louis Missouri Temple, succeeding President Michael W. Barker. President Brown's wife, Glee Bunnell Brown, will serve as temple matron. President Brown served as temple president's counselor, temple ordinance worker, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and temple ordinance worker. He is a retired program manager for Boeing Co., and a former U.S. Navy pilot. He was born in Coffeyville, Kan., to Earl Samuel and Norma Etta Marshall Brown.
Sister Brown is a former assistant to the matron, temple ordinance worker, seminary teacher, ward Relief Society president, and ward Primary president and teacher. She was born in Provo, Utah, to Stephen Lewis and Donna Stubbs Bunnell.
Ezra Thompson "Tom" Clark Jr., 66, of the Enrose Ward, Mesa Arizona Central Stake, called as president of the Mesa Arizona Temple, succeeding President Albert Choules Jr. President Clark's wife, Virginia Meldrum Clark, will serve as temple matron. A patriarch, President Clark served as counselor in mission presidencies, stake Young Men president, bishop, stake executive secretary, senior missionary and temple ordinance worker. He is the semi-retired president of E.T. Clark Inc., and former managing attorney of Fennemore & Craig, Phoenix, Ariz., and other legal firms. He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ezra T. and Maude Erickson Clark.
Sister Clark is a former stake Young Women and Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, institute teacher, ward Young Single Adult teacher, temple ordinance worker and senior missionary. She was born in Provo, Utah, to George Kenneth and Ruth Cluff Meldrum.
Dale Eugene Evanson, 64, Taber 3rd Ward, Taber Alberta Stake, called as president of the Regina Saskatchewan Temple, succeeding President Noel W. Burt. President Evanson's wife, Phyllis Tanner Evanson, will serve as temple matron. President Evanson served as temple president's counselor, temple sealer, mission president, stake president, stake Young Men president and bishop. He is a retired farmer and agricultural research assistant. He was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, to John Eugene and Rae Mendenhall Evanson.
Sister Evanson served with her husband when he was a mission president and is a former assistant to the matron, temple ordinance worker, ward music chairman, member of stake and ward Young Women presidencies, and was ward Young Women and Relief Society president. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, to James Henry and Hazel Belle Nielsen Tanner.
Donald Vernon Jack, 68, Blanding 7th Ward, Blanding Utah West Stake, called as president of the Monticello Utah Temple, succeeding President F. Cooper Jones. President Jack's wife, Shirley Geraldine Zufelt Jack, will serve as temple matron. President Jack served as temple president's counselor, temple sealer and ordinance worker, stake president and counselor, senior missionary and bishop. He is an educational administrator, principal and teacher. He was born in Farmington, N.M., to Vernon William and Gladys Cardon Jack.
Sister Jack is a former assistant to the matron, stake and ward Young Women president, ward Relief Society presidency member, stake Primary chorister, senior missionary and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Durango, Colo., to Leo and Maggie Myrtle Gladden Zufelt.
John Cottam Riding, 67, Mapleton 1st Ward, Mapleton Utah Stake, called as president of the Accra Ghana Temple, succeeding President Grant Gunnell. President Riding's wife, Naomi Meservy Riding, will serve as temple matron. President Riding served as president of the Ghana Accra Mission, and as a stake president and counselor, bishop, stake family history consultant and senior missionary. He is a former vice president of human resources, Air Touch Communications, San Francisco, Calif. He was born in St. George, Utah, to Edwin D. and Kathleen Cottam Riding.
Sister Riding, who served with her husband when he was a mission president, is a former ward Young Women, Relief Society and Primary president, ward organist and choir director, and senior missionary. She was born in Provo, Utah, to Edward Southwick and Lucille Lavina Hansen Meservy.
