Has run nearly 300,000 miles

SALT LAKE CITY — Darryl Beardall, 69, ran in his 34th Deseret Morning News/KJZZ-TV Marathon on July 24. No one has run the race more times in its 37-year history. Brother Beardall, high priests group secretary in the Brush Creek Ward, Santa Rosa California Stake, won the marathon in 1972. Growing up on a ranch in Northern California, he began running competitively in high school. He has run more than 200 marathons, and also competes in ultra-runs of 50-100 miles. He estimates he has run nearly 300,000 miles in his life.
