Another Church film previously shown in the Legacy Theater of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City is now available for home and family use. "The Testaments of One Fold and One Shepherd," released in 2000 and replaced in December 2005 by "Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration" can now be purchased through Church Distribution as a DVD.
"Testaments" joins "Legacy," the first film shown in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building's theater, as a part of the Home and Family Collection, said Robb Jones, assistant manager in the Church's Curriculum Department, which, under direction of the First Presidency, joined the Audiovisual Department, Translation Services and Materials Management to provide this latest film in 18 languages. (Please see box on this page for all films in the Home and Family Collection and for purchasing information.)
"The Testaments of One Fold and One Shepherd" is a fictional account, said Rob Jex, a product manager in the Curriculum Department, but with factual events based on scriptural accounts from the life and ministry of Jesus Christ in the old and new worlds.
The DVD includes language selection, scene selection (convenient for family home evening and classroom lessons), and an invitation to learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"It's a great Easter film," said Brother Jex, speaking of the timing of the release of the DVD.
