New mission presidents

Seven mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin their service about July 1.

Shane Vernon Argyle, 38, Argentina Buenos Aires North Mission; Prairie 8th Ward, West Jordan Utah Prairie Stake; Varsity Scout Coach; former high councilor, bishop and counselor, stake mission president, ward mission leader and missionary in the Costa Rica San Jose Mission. CEO of IntegraCore Inc. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Bill L. and Junette Shepherd Argyle. Married Heidi Baker, four children.

A ward Relief Society president, Sister Argyle is a former Relief Society teacher, gospel doctrine teacher, visiting teaching coordinator, family history consultant and missionary in the Italy Milan Mission. Born in Logan, Utah, to Barry Alden and Tamra Hyde Baker.

Oscar Wilfredo Chavez, 50, Chile Concepcion Mission; Las Vinas Ward, Santiago Chile La Reina Stake; Area Seventy and second counselor in the Area Presidency; former stake president and counselor, bishop, high councilor and missionary in the Chile Concepcion Mission. Area welfare manager for the Church. Born in Humberstone, Iquique, Chile, to Oscar Alfredo Chavez Inda and Eulalia Lopez Munoz de Chavez. Married Lorena Beatriz Vidal Soto, three children.

A ward Primary president, Sister Chavez is a former stake Young Women president and camp director and ward Relief Society president. Born in Santiago, Chile, to Marino O'Higgins Vidal Aguero and Eusebia Soto Vergara de Vidal.

Stanley Eugene Everett, 62, Russia Vladivostok Mission; Solon Ward, Kirtland Ohio Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former bishop, high councilor, counselor in bishoprics, elders quorum president and seminary teacher. Attorney, Brouse McDowell. Born in San Mateo, Calif., to Billy Eugene and Rosemary Anna Finley Everett. Married Virginia Linda Lotzman, eight children.

A ward family history center director, Sister Everett is a former ward missionary, ward Young Women president, counselor in ward Relief Society and Primary presidencies, temple ordinance worker and seminary teacher. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Vincent William and Helen Evelyn Glaze Lotzman.

Mark Allen Ferrin, 56, Philippines Naga Mission; Nordic Valley Ward, Huntsville Utah Stake; gospel doctrine teacher, ward young single adult adviser and ward Young Men president; former counselor in stake presidencies, high councilor, seminary teacher, counselor in a stake Young Men presidency and missionary in the Philippines Mission. Attorney. Born in Dallas, Texas, to J. Jay and Jeanne Ashton Ferrin. Married Cheryl Anne Collett, five children.

North Mission; Willow Creek 4th Ward, Sandy Utah Willow Creek Stake; former bishop and counselor, high councilor, counselor in an elders quorum presidency and missionary in the East Central States Mission. Past president, Utah Senate and former president of the National Association of Realtors. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lloyd B and Lollieta Anderson Mansell. Married Margurite Van Der Wouden, eight children.

Sister Mansell is a former counselor in a ward Young Women presidency, member of a stake Relief Society board, Relief Society teacher, ward Young Women camp director and nursery leader. Born in Brunsuum, Netherlands, to Jan and Ursula Kaczor Van Der Wouden.

Richard B. Roach, 59, Illinois Chicago South Mission; Palmyra Ward, Spanish Fork Utah Palmyra Stake; counselor in branch presidency at the Provo Missionary Training Center; former stake president and counselor, bishop and counselor, stake and ward Young Men president and missionary in the Southern Far East Mission. Vice president and manager of Zions First National Bank. Born in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Myles B. and Emily Marie Simkins Roach. Married Kristee Marie Axelgard, two children.

Sister Roach is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Young Women adviser and Relief Society teacher. Born in Provo, Utah, to Aage Thuesen (Bill) and Remola Colleen (Pat) Miller Axelgard.

Donald Lamborn Showalter III, 55, Washington Everett Mission; Bountiful 25th Ward, Bountiful Utah South Stake; bishop; former high councilor, high priest group leader, ward executive secretary and missionary in the Taiwan Mission. Vice president and senior trust officer, Wells Fargo Bank. Born in San Jose, Calif., to Donald Lamborn Showalter Jr. and Marian Ellen Hebel Showalter. Married Peggy Walgren, five children.
