New temple presidents

The following have been called to serve as temple presidents and matrons. They will begin their service about Nov. 1. They have been called to a three-year term of service.

A list of all temple presidents and their respective assignments was published in the Church News on Aug. 11, 2007.

Carlos Morales Bowman, 72, Midland 2nd Ward, Midland Michigan Stake; Lima Peru Temple, succeeding President Royden John Glade. President Bowman's wife, Lois Ann Christensen Bowman, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in the Lima Peru Temple presidency, he has served as president of the Mexico Leon Mission and the Lima Peru Missionary Training Center. He is a former Family History area adviser, stake president's counselor and bishop. A retired project director with The Dow Chemical Company, he was born in Mexico City, Mexico, to Carlos Morales Rubio and Maybelle Bowman de Morales.

Sister Bowman, an assistant to the matron at the Lima Peru Temple, served with her husband as he presided over the Mexico Leon Mission and the Lima Peru Missionary Training Center, and as a counselor in a stake and ward Relief Society presidency and family history area adviser. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Carlyle Burt and Freda Crosby Christensen.

Duane Bird Gerrard, 69, Kaysville 12th Ward, Kaysville Utah Crestwood Stake; Dallas Texas Temple, succeeding President Philip Hichborn Besselievre Jr. President Gerrard's wife, Kay Bennion Gerrard, will serve as temple matron. A gospel doctrine teacher, he is a former member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy, an Area Authority, regional representative, stake president, bishop and elders quorum president. He is a retired pilot and the Chief of Safety for Delta Airlines and former vice-president of flight operations for Western Airlines. He was born in Murray, Utah, to Leonard and Mildred Bird Gerrard.

Sister Gerrard, a ward Relief Society teacher, has served as a temple ordinance worker at the Ogden Utah Temple, ward Young Women president and adviser, ward Primary president and teacher, and Relief Society teacher. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Oscar C. and Marion Sears Bennion.

Thomas Harrison Green, 71, Sullivan Ward, Spokane Washington Valley Stake; Spokane Washington Temple, succeeding President Farrell Newren Binns. President Green's wife, Norene McClellan Green, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in the Spokane Washington Temple presidency, he has served as a stake president, stake president's counselor, bishop, branch president and high councilor. A retired, self-employed certified public accountant, he was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Jared Ward and Preil Harrison Green.

Sister Green, an assistant to the matron at the Spokane Washington Temple, has served as a ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, temple ordinance worker, seminary teacher, senior couple missionary and ward organist. She was born in Hayward, Calif., to David Ross and Margaret Stewart McClellan.

Jack Morris Holt, 71, Aetna Ward, Cardston Alberta Stake; Edmonton Alberta Temple, succeeding President Robert Steven Patterson. President Holt's wife, Rita Ackroyd Holt, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in the Cardston Alberta Temple presidency, he has served as a counselor in the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission presidency, bishop, senior missionary couple and Area humanitarian services director. A retired educator with the Calgary Board of Education, he was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, to Morris and Helen Scoville Holt.

Sister Holt, an assistant to the matron at the Cardston Alberta Temple, has served as a senior missionary couple, temple ordinance worker, ward Relief Society president and counselor and ward Young Women president and counselor. She was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Grant Olsen and Edith Leavitt Ackroyd.

Maurice Stanley Moyle, 72, Pyramid Lake Ward, Sparks Nevada Stake; Reno Nevada Temple, succeeding President Oris Lorenzo Corbridge. President Moyle's wife, Celia Ann Lowe Moyle, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in the Reno Nevada Temple presidency, he has served as a bishop, high councilor, temple ordinance worker and elders quorum president. A retired principal from the Eureka County School District, he was born in Lone Pine, Calif., to Stanley and Mable Ann Miller Moyle.

Sister Moyle, an assistant to the matron at the Reno Nevada Temple, has served as a counselor in stake and ward Relief Society presidencies, temple ordinance worker and temple preparation teacher. She was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Cecil Woodrow and Annie Dalley White Lowe.

Kenneth Lowell Robinson, 76, Arlington Heights 1st Ward, Schaumburg Illinois Stake; Chicago Illinois Temple, succeeding President Glenn Allan Hansen. President Robinson's wife, Julia Cecelia Taylor Robinson, will serve as temple matron. A patriarch and temple sealer, he has previously served as a temple president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, bishop's counselor and senior couple missionary. A retired vice president of retail sales for Sara Lee, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard James and Mary Bell Strong Robinson.

Sister Robinson, a temple ordinance worker and visiting teaching coordinator, is a former assistant to the matron of the Chicago Illinois Temple, stake Primary president and counselor, temple missionary and senior couple missionary. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wendell W. and Cecelia Maude Shipley Taylor.
