New mission presidents

Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin service about July 1.

Mark Oliver Bowman, 55, Georgia Macon Mission; Canyon View 9th Ward, Orem Utah Canyon View Stake; counselor in the stake presidency; former bishop, high councilor, stake mission president, temple ordinance worker and missionary in the Nauvoo and Pennsylvania missions. Retired dentist. Born in Alhambra, Calif., to Newell Keith and Jean Annette Watters Bowman. Married Teresa Ashman, five children.

A temple worker, Sister Bowman is a former ward Young Women president and counselor, Relief Society enrichment leader and teacher. Born in Fort Sill, Okla., to James Duane and Alice Lamon Melville Ashman.

Timothy Lee Fry, 53, Ukraine Donetsk Mission; Eagles Landing Ward, St. George Utah Morningside Stake; ward mission leader; former bishop and counselor, ward Young Men president, Aaronic priesthood adviser and missionary in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. President, Custom Fireplace Distributors. Born in Toledo, Ohio, to Grant Kay and Donna Ruth Reed Fry. Married Wendy Jean Bickmore, six children.

A ward Relief Society birthday coordinator, Sister Fry is a former ward Young Women president, secretary and adviser, ward Primary president and teacher and ward Sunday School teacher. Born in Santa Maria, Calif., to David Keith and Norma Emma Bird Bickmore.

James Ermon Griffin, 61, Tennessee Knoxville Mission; Hot Springs Ward, Little Rock Arkansas Stake; bishop; former sealer in the Memphis Tennessee Temple, Area Seventy, regional representative, stake president and missionary in the Canadian Mission. Ear, nose and throat surgeon. Born in El Dorado, Ark., to Ermon J. and Jollyene Griffin. Married Marlena Marie Jensen, six children.

A visiting teaching supervisor, Sister Griffin is a former temple ordinance worker, ward Relief Society president and counselor and Primary achievement day leader. Born in Tremonton, Utah, to Orson Emil and Lena Udora Miller Jensen.

Robert Hernan Heyn, 48, Mexico Tijuana Mission; Bull River 2nd Ward, Lehi Utah West Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former bishop and counselor, counselor in the Colombia Bogota Mission presidency, high councilor and missionary in the Colombia Bogota Mission. Executive director, Pete Suazo Business Center. Born in Bogota, Colombia, to Mario R. Heyn and Melida Mallarino. Married Yolanda Santamaria, two children.

A ward Young Women adviser, Sister Heyn is a former ward Young Women president, seminary teacher, nursery leader, Relief Society teacher and ward family record extraction specialist. Born in Bogota, Colombia, to Alfredo Santamaria and Dilia Plazas.

James Stuart Jardine, 61, California Sacramento Mission; Parleys 6th Ward, Salt Lake Parleys Stake; former stake president and counselor, bishop, ward Young Men president, regional representative and missionary in the California Los Angeles Mission. President, Ray, Quinney & Nebeker. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Stuart Bryson and Winnifred Cannon Jardine. Married Jeanne Nebeker, four children.

A member of the area public affairs committee, Sister Jardine is a former ward Young Women president, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, ward Primary chorister and stake music director. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Stephen Bennion and June Wilkins Nebeker.

Clive Richard Jolliffe, 49, New Zealand Wellington Mission; Huntingdon Ward, Northampton England Stake; stake president; former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, high councilor, stake mission president and missionary in the England Leeds Mission. General manager, Agreserves Ltd. Born in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England, to William James Jolliffe III and Phyllis Iris Aedy Jolliffe. Married Catherine Joy Isaac, three children.

A seminary teacher, Sister Jolliffe is a former stake Primary president and counselor, stake Relief Society president and counselor and stake Young Women president. Born in Bristol, England, to Geoffrey Marshall Isaac and Lavinia Joy Figures Isaac.

H. Gary Pehrson, 65, Connecticut Hartford Mission; Kaysville 12th Ward, Kaysville Utah Crestwood Stake; gospel doctrine teacher; former bishop, high councilor, elders quorum president and missionary in the Sweden Mission. Chief executive officer, Urban Central Region, Intermountain Health Care. Born in Murray, Utah, to Hugh Argyle and Bertha Lena Sorenson Pehrson. Married Julia Marie Terry, six children.
