Curitiba Brazil Temple facts

Announced: Aug. 23, 2002

Location: Rua Deputado Heitor Alencar Furtado, 3641 — Massungue suburb, Curitiba, Parana, Brazil.

Site: 8.15 acres

Exterior features: Reinforced concrete cast onsite, with facade of sienna white granite native to the state of Espirito Santo, Brazil. Thirty art-glass window panes complete the facade exterior.

Architects: Jeronimo da Cunha Lima, Brazil; GSBS, United States.

Contractor: LDS Church Temple Construction Department of Brazil.

Rooms: Baptistry, celestial room, two ordinance rooms, two sealing rooms.

Building size: 27,850 square feet

Building height: 125 feet, 2 inches to the top of the Angel Moroni statue (the statue is 14 feet, 2 inches tall).

District: The Curitiba temple district will cover the stakes and mission districts in the Brazilian state of Parana and a portion of the state of Santa Catarina.

Groundbreaking: March 10, 2005

Dedication: June 1, 2008, by President Thomas S. Monson; four sessions.
