New mission presidents

Seven mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin their service about July 1, 2009. Their mission assignments will be announced later.

George Mark Albright, 53, Cimarron Ward, Las Vegas Nevada Redrock Stake; temple ordinance worker; former stake president, bishop, high councilor, seminary teacher, ward Young Men president and missionary in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission. President and attorney, Albright, Stoddard, Warnick & Albright. Born in San Antonio, Texas, to George Lavern and Barbara Carruth Albright. Married Karyn Jean Wasden, five children. A ward Relief Society president, Sister Albright is a former ward Primary president, ward Young Women camp director, ward Young Women adviser and temple ordinance worker. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Leonard Berrett and Joyce Esplin Wasden.

Richard Reed Clegg, 56, Mueller Park 10th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake; former high priest group leader assistant, bishop and counselor, ward Young Men president, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Bolivia La Paz Mission. Dentist. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Brigham Huffaker and Leona Louise Peterson Clegg. Married Anne Elizabeth Hall, six children. A ward Relief Society president and Church-service missionary at the Church History Museum, Sister Clegg is a former counselor in stake Relief Society and Young Women presidencies, ward Sunday School teacher, ward Primary chorister and ward Young Women president. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Clark A. and Francoise Marie Jeanne Fouch?Hall.

Joseph Grant Hacking, 62, Vega Baja Ward, Toa Baja Puerto Rico Stake; former stake president, bishop, stake Young Men president, high priest group leader and missionary in the Argentine Mission. Retired general manager of Latin America, Victaulic. Born in Roosevelt, Utah, to George Robert and Mary Grant Hacking. Married Annette Cook, five children. Sister Hacking is a former counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, ward Relief Society president and counselor, ward Primary president and missionary in the Australian Mission. Born in Brigham City, Utah, to Delbert Eugene Cook and Marion Nebeker.

Thomas Henry Jensen, 51, Harmony Ward, Vancouver Washington East Stake; Aaronic priesthood adviser; former stake president, bishop and counselor, high councilor, elders quorum president and missionary in the Australia Perth Mission. President and owner, Connections NW, Inc. and LDSFabric.com, Inc. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Henry Otto and Nancy Jean Theobald Jensen. Married Kathleen Ann Billett, five children. A stake Relief Society president, Sister Jensen is a former counselor and instructor in the ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary, stake Primary secretary and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Milwaukie, Wisconsin, to Danny James and Patricia Moreen Cathery Billett.

Richard Edgar Merkley, 62, American Fork 1st Ward, American Fork Utah Stake; ward mission leader; former stake president and counselor, bishop and counselor, high councilor and missionary in the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. Retired pilot, FedEx. Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Floyd Richard and Mary Madge Stephens Merkley. Married Betty Lu Boren, five children. A stake Relief Society president, Sister Merkley is a former ward Young Women president and camp director, stake Primary president and counselor, nursery leader and Primary teacher. Born in American Fork, Utah, to Carl and Joy Irene Boren.

Renn Matthew Patch, 58, Sunset Heights 2nd Ward, Orem Utah Sunset Heights Stake; former stake president, high councilor, bishop, ward Young Men president, humanitarian missionary and missionary in the Australia West Mission. Assistant secretary to the Presiding Bishopric. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Eugene McKeever and Eleanor Florence Strom Patch. Married Deanne Marlene Watson, four children. A ward Primary teacher, Sister Patch is a former ward Primary pianist, Primary chorister, counselor in ward Primary and Young Women presidencies and Church-service missionary at the Provo Missionary Training Center and Young Women Resource Center. Born in Riverside, California, to Valdean and Marie Antoinette Giron Watson.

Jay Douglas Pimentel, 55, Alameda Ward, San Leandro California Stake; high priest group leader; former stake president, public affairs director, bishop and counselor, high councilor, and missionary in the Germany Munich Mission. Vice president and associate general counsel, TriNet. Born in Berkeley, California, to Douglas Dearborn and Barbara Green Pimentel. Married Colleen Reed, four children. A member of the stake activity committee, Sister Pimentel is a former counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Relief Society president and counselor, stake historian, seminary teacher and stake missionary. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lyle Lee and JoAnn Brown Reed.
