Six new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency, with their wives called as matrons.They will begin service soon.
Harvey Glade Horner, 64, Heber 4th Ward, Heber City Utah Stake, called as president of the Taipei Taiwan Temple, succeeding President Gerald H. Walker. President Horner's wife, Sherry Wilson Horner, will serve as temple matron. President Horner is the managing director of the Church's Heber Valley Girls Camp and former president of the Taiwan Taipei Mission, stake president, stake executive secretary, high councilor, bishop and temple ordinance worker. A retired public school administrator, he was born in Heber City, Utah, to Glade Brown and Yvonne Hicken Horner.
A stake Relief Society president, Sister Horner served with her husband as he presided over the Taiwan Taipei Mission. She served as a ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president, counselor in ward Relief Society and Young Women presidencies and as a temple ordinance worker. She was born in Heber City, Utah, to Emer Huffaker and Leah Henrie Wilson.
Eldon H. Morgan, 73, Beaumont Ward, Yucaipa California Stake, called as president of the Redlands California Temple, succeeding President Wayne H. Bringhurst. President Morgan's wife, Flora Crawford Hale Morgan, will serve as temple matron. President Morgan is a counselor in the Redlands California Temple presidency and has served as a stake patriarch, regional welfare agent, mission president's counselor, stake president and bishop. A retired institute director for the Church Educational System, he was born in Liberty, Idaho, to Hugh and Edna Pugmire Keetch Morgan.

Sister Morgan serves as an assistant to the matron of the Redlands California Temple and has served as a stake and ward Young Women president, stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president and counselor, ward Primary counselor and gospel doctrine teacher. She was born in Reno, Nev., to Charles Shields and Miriam Crawford Hale.
Brent L Nielson, 71, Mountain View Ward, Cardston Alberta West Stake, called as president of the Cardston Alberta Temple, succeeding President Donald S. Hansen. President Nielson's wife, Barbara Elaine Tollestrup Nielson, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in a branch presidency, President Nielson served as president of the Ghana Missionary Training Center, president of the Democratic Republic of Congo Kinshasa Mission, temple president's counselor, stake president and bishop. Retired superintendent of schools for the Cardston School Division, he was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Ora Leroy and Vivian Marsden Nielson.

Sister Nielson is a branch Relief Society president. She served with her husband as he presided over the Ghana Missionary Training Center and the Democratic Republic of Congo Kinshasa Mission and has also served as an assistant to a temple matron, ward Relief Society president, temple ordinance worker and Primary teacher. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, to Marion Arthur Tollestrup and Julianna Maria Clementina Audenart.
Arthur Leroy Porter, 65, Coral Canyon 1st Ward, Washington Utah East Stake, called as president of the San Jose Costa Rica Temple, succeeding President E. Jerald Haws. President Porter's wife, Elaine Agren Porter, will serve as temple matron. President Porter is a sealer in the St. George Utah Temple and a stake emergency preparedness specialist. He served as president of the Venezuela Maracaibo Mission, president of the Argentina Missionary Training Center, stake president's counselor, bishop and ward Young Men president. A retired professor at Southern Utah University, he was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Arthur C. and Beth Sargent Porter.

Sister Porter is a ward Relief Society president. She served with her husband while he presided over the Venezuela Maracaibo Mission and the Argentina Missionary Training Center and served as ward Young Women president and in ward Relief Society and Young Women presidencies. She was born in Rexburg, Idaho, to Carl Glen and Ila Hayes Agren.
William Hubbell Sherwood Jr., 67, Woodland Park Ward, Colorado Springs Colorado Stake, called as president of the Palmyra New York Temple, succeeding President Ralph E. Siebach. President Sherwood's wife, Mary Kathleen Jensen Sherwood, will serve as temple matron. President Sherwood, a high councilor, previously served as president of the Nigeria Ibadan Mission, mission president's counselor, bishop, sealer and coordinator of the Palmyra New York Temple open house and dedication committee. Director of sales and training for Genesis Financial Technology, he was born in Phoenix, Ariz., to William Hubbell and Martha Mitchell Sherwood.

Sister Sherwood serves in a stake Relief Society presidency. She served with her husband as he presided over the Nigeria Ibadan Mission, and also served as a ward Young Women president, Family History Center director and a temple ordinance worker. She was born in Riverside, Calif., to Forrest J. and Mary Lindsay Jensen.
Elder W. Douglas Shumway, 69, 18th Ward, Salt Lake Ensign Stake, called as president of the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple, succeeding President Ivan G. Waddoups. President Shumway's wife, Dixie Ann Jarvis Shumway, will serve as temple matron. President Shumway, a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy, served as president of the Bolivia Santa Cruz Mission, regional welfare agent, stake president's counselor, stake mission president, stake Young Men president and bishop. A retired executive of Whiting Brothers Investment Company, he was born in St. Johns, Ariz., to Wilford and Mabel Whiting Shumway.

A gospel doctrine teacher, Sister Shumway served with her husband as he presided over the Bolivia Santa Cruz Mission. She also served as stake and ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, Relief Society teacher and ward Young Women adviser. She was born in St. Johns, Ariz., to Ruel Elmo and Vera Wilkins Jarvis.
