New temple presidents

Six new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency, with their wives called as matrons. They will begin service soon.

Peter Josef Georg Berkhahn, 64, Wetterau Ward, Frankfurt Germany Stake, called as president of the Frankfurt Germany Temple, succeeding President Ulrich Bergmann. President Berkhahn's wife, Ilona Linde Berkhahn, will serve as temple matron. President Berkhahn is a Sunday School teacher, and has served as president of the Canada Calgary Mission, mission president's counselor, stake president and bishop. Director for Temporal Affairs for the Church, he was born in Hamburg, Germany, to Werner and Magda Frank Berkhahn.

Sister Berkhahn is a ward Relief Society president. She served with her husband while he presided over the Canada Calgary Mission, and served as a counselor in ward Young Women and Primary presidencies, institute teacher and seminary teacher. She was born in Hamburg, Germany, to Werner and Ilse Hansen Linde.

Delbert Channing Bradshaw, 67, Friendswood 1st Ward, Friendswood Texas Stake, called as president of the Houston Texas Temple, succeeding President William R. Bradford. President Bradshaw's wife, Charlotte Marie Wallace Bradshaw, will serve as temple matron. President Bradshaw is a counselor in the Houston Texas Temple presidency, and has served as a patriarch, mission president's counselor, stake president's counselor, stake mission president and bishop. A retired attorney, he was born in Gilmer, Texas, to Delbert Herman and Ida Mary Darnell Bradshaw.

Sister Bradshaw is an assistant to the matron of the Houston Texas Temple. She served as a ward Relief Society president, patriarch's scribe, ward Young Women adviser, seminary teacher and ward organist. She was born in Beaumont, Texas, to Weldon and Wanda Clorese Pittman Wallace.

Robert Albin Gehmlich, 75, Medicine Hat 5th Ward, Medicine Hat Alberta Stake, called as president of the Regina Saskatchewan Temple, succeeding President Dale E. Evanson. President Gehmlich's wife, Claudia Rae Prince Gehmlich, will serve as temple matron. President Gehmlich is a sealer in the Cardston Alberta Temple, and has served as a stake president, stake president's counselor, bishop, senior couple missionary, and temple ordinance worker. A retired assistant deputy minister for the government of Alberta, he was born in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, to Karl Reinhard and Herta Helene Voigt Gehmlich.

Sister Gehmlich is a temple ordinance worker. She served as a ward Relief Society president, Primary teacher, ward family history consultant and meetinghouse librarian. She was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Elmo Wright and Eliza Olivet Beaves Prince.

John Raymond Gibson, 63, Logan Ward, Brisbane Australia Logan Stake, called as president of the Brisbane Australia Temple, succeeding President Terence L. Davies. President Gibson's wife, Kathryn Esther McVinish Gibson, will serve as temple matron. President Gibson is a Sunday School teacher, and has served as an Area Seventy, president of the Papua New Guinea Port Moresby Mission, regional representative, stake president and bishop. A retired coordinator for the Church Educational System, he was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, a son of Lily Ellen Hilda Marshall Gibson.

Sister Gibson is a seminary teacher. She served with her husband while he presided over the Papua New Guinea Port Moresby Mission, and has served as a stake and ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, counselor and stake Family History Center Director. She was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, to Angus Alfred and Sarah Faith Jenyns McVinish.

Ed Jolley Pinegar, 74, Suncrest 10th Ward, Orem Utah Suncrest Stake, called as president of the Manti Utah Temple, succeeding President J. Bruce Harless. President Pinegar's wife, Patricia Peterson Pinegar, will serve as temple matron. President Pinegar is a counselor in a ward Sunday School presidency, and has served as the president of the England London South Mission, president of the Provo Missionary Training Center, member of the Young Men General Board, stake president, high councilor, bishop, senior couple missionary, sealer and seminary teacher. A retired dentist, he was born in Provo, Utah, to James Emery and Effie Jolley Pinegar.

Sister Pinegar is a Relief Society compassionate service leader, and served with her husband while he presided over the England London South Mission and as a senior couple missionary. She served as a Primary general president, in a Young Women general presidency, as a ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Laurence and Wavie Williams Peterson.

Michael Lynn Southward, 59, Cleveland Ward, Tulsa Oklahoma Stake, called as president of the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, succeeding President H. Aldridge Gillespie. President Southward's wife, Victoria Marie Crowder Southward, will serve as temple matron. President Southward is a ward mission leader, and has served as a stake president, stake mission president, branch president, bishop's counselor, high priest group leader and elders quorum president. A petroleum products distributor, he was born in Walters, Okla., to L. Burl and Hazel Colline Southerland Southward.

Sister Southward serves in a stake Primary presidency and has served as a stake Relief Society president, branch Young Women president, branch Primary counselor, gospel doctrine teacher, Primary chorister and seminary teacher. She was born in Vivian, La., to Robert Owen and Dorothy Marie Flores Crowder.
