In an effort to reach members and non-members alike, a revised version of the Church's film Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration is now available as a full-length movie online. It is the first Church movie available in full on the Internet.
Even though members still enjoy watching the original film about the Prophet Joseph Smith that was released in 2005, the revised version — which includes about 40 percent new material — was produced to make the film more understandable for more than just members of the Church.
What originally began with a narration of a young woman convert to the Church who migrates from Great Britain, the new version takes the perspective of Lucy Mack Smith, Joseph's mother, who was a great support and witness to her son's call as a prophet. The film still depicts major events in the Prophet's life, and shows many principles of the restored Church.
The original film has been playing at the Legacy Theater in Salt Lake City, along with 19 other Church visitors centers around the world. This new release makes the film available to all with Internet access.
The full-length version of the film is available at MormonChannel.org/Joseph and on YouTube. It is currently available only in English.
