New temple presidents

Gordon Michael Finnigan, 62, Fallbrook 2nd Ward, Vista California Stake, called as president of the San Diego California Temple, succeeding President Bruce L. Olsen. President Finnigan's wife, Karen Germaine Roberts Finnigan, will serve as temple matron. He has served as president of the New Zealand Wellington Mission, stake president, stake president's counselor, mission president's counselor and bishop. A former mergers and acquisitions manager, he was born in South Porcupine, Ontario, Canada, to Gordon Franklin and Ethel Marion Brown Finnigan.

Sister Finnigan serves as ward Primary president and as a temple ordinance worker. She served with her husband as he presided over the New Zealand Wellington Mission, and has served as stake and ward Relief Society president and seminary teacher. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to James Francis Sayre and Alma Joyce Dow Roberts.

Alema Senesesa Fitisemanu, 74, Navu 1st Ward, Apia Samoa Navu Stake, called as president of the Apia Samoa Temple, succeeding President J. Phillip Hanks. President Fitisemanu's wife, Merita Tuimauga Fitisemanu, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a Government Relations Specialist for the Church Public Affairs Council and as a sealer in the Apia Samoa Temple. He has served as a temple president's counselor, chairman of the Apia Samoa Temple Open House and Rededication Committee, stake president, mission president's counselor and high councilor. A retired lecturer with the National University of Samoa, he was born in Malifa, Upolu, Samoa, to Malietoa Talavou Pe'a and Alisa Crichton Fitisemanu.

Sister Fitisemanu serves as a choir director for the Mormon Choir of Samoa, and as a temple ordinance worker at the Apia Samoa Temple. She has served as an assistant to the matron of the Apia Samoa Temple, ward Primary president, and ward Relief Society president's counselor. She was born in Sataoa, Upolu, Samoa, to Faatau and Salumalo Seiuli Tuimauga.

Ernst Husz, 67, Vienna Ward, Vienna Austria Stake, called as president of the Freiberg Germany Temple, succeeding President Frank H. Apel. President Husz' wife, Marikka Ingeborg Pillmann Husz, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a counselor in the Austria Vienna Mission presidency, and has served as an Area Seventy, regional representative, stake president, stake president's counselor, bishop and branch president. A retired personnel director and controller, he was born in Vienna, Austria, to Alexander and Barbara Roth Husz.

Sister Husz serves as an ordinance worker in the Frankfurt Germany Temple. She has served as district Primary president's counselor, ward Young Women president and seminary teacher. She was born in Vienna, Austria, to Erich W. and Margarethe Ley Pillman.

Glenn Ward Taylor, 68, Riverview Ward, Tremonton Utah Stake, called as president of the Logan Utah Temple, succeeding President W. Rolfe Kerr. President Taylor's wife, Lynette Rogers Taylor, will serve as temple matron. He serves as gospel essentials teacher and a sealer in the Logan Utah Temple. He has served as president of the Canada Toronto East Mission, stake president, stake president's counselor and bishop. Former president of two funeral homes, he was born in Brigham City, Utah, to Glenn and Edna Dee Ward Taylor.

Sister Taylor serves as an ordinance worker in the Logan Utah Temple. She has served with her husband as he presided over the Canada Toronto East Mission, and has served as stake and ward Relief Society president's counselor, ward Primary president and stake family history consultant. She was born in Tremonton, Utah, to Wilford and Edna Gwen Stephens Rogers.

Garth John Wakefield, 74, Kenwood 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Wilford Stake, called as president of the Bogotá Colombia Temple, succeeding President Jorge J. Escobar. President Wakefield's wife, Kay Lynn Blake Wakefield, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a stake executive secretary. He has served as president of the Spain Bilbao Mission and president of the Madrid Spain Missionary Training Center, bishop and a member of the Tabernacle Choir. A retired manager of pre-field services for the Church's Missionary Department, he was born in Huntington, Utah, to Perry Preston and Adeline Leonard Wakefield.

Sister Wakefield serves as a ward Relief Society teacher. She served with her husband as he presided over the Spain Bilbao Mission and the Madrid Spain Missionary Training Center. She also has served as a member of the Primary General Board, ward Relief Society president's counselor and a member of the Tabernacle Choir. She was born in Ogden, Utah, to Forest O'Dell and Irene Levanger Blake.
