Quorums of the Seventy
The First and Second Quorums of the Seventy are set apart as full-time General Authorities for the Church, and give up their own employment to serve full-time wherever they are assigned.
Members of the Third through the Eighth Quorums of the Seventy, known also as Area Seventies, perform many of the same duties as leaders in the First and Second Quorums of the Seventy but they continue to maintain their employment and serve in the areas where they live. The third through eighth quorums are assigned by geographical area and, as the Church continues to grow, so do the number of Quorums of the Seventy.
