New temple presidents

Five new temple presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service later this year.

Harvey K. Bowen, 70, Belmont 1st Ward, Cambridge Massachusetts Stake, called as president of the Boston Massachusetts Temple, succeeding President Robert S. Wood. President Bowen's wife, Kathleen Jones Bowen, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a temple ordinance worker and sealer in the Boston Massachusetts Temple and as a stake high councilor. He has previously served as co-chairman of the Boston Massachusetts Temple Open House and Dedication Committee, president of the Washington Tacoma Mission, stake president, bishop and high councilor. A fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, member of the National Academy of Engineering, and member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Elmer Joseph and Sara Darley Bowen.

Sister Bowen serves as a temple ordinance worker in the Boston Massachusetts Temple, and as a Primary teacher. She served with her husband as he presided over the Washington Tacoma Mission, and has also served as stake and ward Relief Society president, stake and ward Young Women president and as a ward Primary president's counselor. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Helen H. Reid and Harvey William Jones.

Brad L Crane, 63, Rosenberg Ward, Richmond Texas Stake, called as president of the Houston Texas Temple, succeeding President D. Channing Bradshaw. President Crane's wife, Susan Trimble Crane, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a sealer in the Houston Texas Temple and as an area executive secretary. He has served as a stake president, bishop, high councilor and as regional welfare chairman for the Houston Texas Welfare Region. A partner and structural engineer for SCA Consulting Engineers, he was born in Murray, Utah, to Birdie and Earl Edward Crane.

Sister Crane serves as a stake seminary teacher. She has served as an ordinance worker in the Houston Texas Temple, stake and ward Primary president, ward Relief Society president's counselor and ward Young Women president's counselor. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Athleen and Cuthbert June Trimble.

John Lunt Hatch, 61, Juárez 1st Ward, Colonia Juárez Mexico Stake, called as president of the Colonia Juárez Chihuahua Mexico Temple, succeeding President Robert J. Whetten. President Hatch's wife, Sandra Call Hatch, will serve as temple matron. He serves as first counselor at the Colonia Juárez Chihuahua Mexico Temple, and has previously served as a high councilor, elders quorum president and senior couple missionary. A retired farmer and school teacher, he was born in Colonia Dublán, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Marza Lunt and Ernest Le Roy Hatch.

Sister Hatch serves as an assistant to the matron of the Colonia Juárez Chihuahua Mexico Temple. She has served as a temple ordinance worker, stake and ward Relief Society president, stake Primary president's counselor, ward Young Women president and senior couple missionary. She was born in Colonia Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Beverly Johnson and Waldo Pratt Call.

Ronald William Komm, 74, North Shore Ward, Vancouver British Columbia Stake, called as president of the Vancouver British Columbia Temple, succeeding President Cordell B. Rolfson. President Komm's wife, Linda Jane Hicken Komm, will serve as temple matron. He serves as second counselor in the Vancouver British Columbia Temple presidency. He has served as a stake president, patriarch, bishop, high councilor and sealer in the Seattle Washington Temple. A retired orthodontist, he was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, to Wilhelm and Doris Mae Fowler Komm.

Sister Komm serves as an assistant to the matron in the Vancouver British Columbia Temple. She has served as a stake Relief Society president's counselor, stake and ward music chairman, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president's counselor and ordinance worker in the Seattle Washington Temple. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, to John Orvin and Inez June Lamb Hicken.

Jorge Washington Ventura Brignoli, 64, La Plata 2nd Ward, La Plata Argentina Stake, called as president of the Montevideo Uruguay Temple, succeeding President Lynn R. Shurtleff. President Ventura's wife, Lilian Fernández Occhiuzzi de Ventura, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a high councilor, and has served as an Area Seventy, regional representative, president of the Argentina Rosario Mission and stake president. A retired institute director for the Church Educational System, he was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, to Alfredo V. and Luiggia Francesca A. Brignoli de Ventura.

Sister Ventura serves as a counselor in a ward Primary presidency. She served with her husband as he presided over the Argentina Rosario Mission. She has also served as a stake Relief Society president's counselor, stake Young Women and Primary president and as ward Relief Society president. She was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, to Jaime and Alba Occhiuzzi de Fernández.
