The open house dates for the Kansas City Missouri Temple have been extended a week, from the original concluding date of April 21 to April 28.
The extension came because of heavy demand for tickets. “We have close to 80,000 people who have requested tours and we expect nearly 100,000 visitors by the time the tour ends on April 28,” said Elder William R. Walker, executive director of the Temple Department.
Tours for special guests began Thursday, April 5, and will continue through Saturday morning, April 7. The general public will begin attending the open house at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7. Thereafter, open house tours will begin at 9 a.m., Monday, April 9, through Saturday, April 28, excluding Sundays.
Free reservations can be made through kansascitymormontemple.org. The temple will be dedicated on Sunday, May 6, in three sessions. The dedicatory sessions will be broadcast to LDS congregations within the temple district.
