The Church has issued a casting call for actors interested in appearing in a series of videos featuring scenes from the Book of Mormon.
The first videos from the multi-year video library will be released in 2018.
Seasoned actors, amateurs and those with little or no acting experience are invited to visit casting.lds.org for more information and specific cast needs.
“The Book of Mormon videos will have the same purpose as the Book of Mormon itself — to bring people closer to Jesus Christ,” said Elder Larry R. Lawrence, General Authority Seventy. “We hope the video library will build bridges of understanding and increase interest in God’s word, which in turn can change hearts and inspire people to live better lives.”
Filming for the new series — which will be similar to the New Testament video library project that began in 2011 and finished this year — is anticipated to begin next June at the Church’s “Jerusalem” movie set near Goshen, Utah. Filming may also happen in other North American locations.
The videos will be filmed in English and are expected to be made available in additional languages.
The future Book of Mormon videos will be used in Church classrooms, in missionary work and in member homes for personal and family viewing. Additional project details will be available in the future.
